I was wondering if anyone could offer my their opinions on the mileage I am getting from my 929 - currently done 114,300 miles.... for 13.2 gallons (60 litres) of fuel I am getting about 223 miles (360K).... does this seem like excessive fuel consumption to you? I would be very appreciative to receive any comments re this... this is the first mazda i have owned and it does not seem to matter whether I use unleaded premium fuel or straight unleaded? anyideas why fuel consumption seems high? |

I want you to do the following.... Purchase a timing belt kit at auto zone for appx. 90 dollars. It includes new tensioners, new pulleys, and timing belt. Change these componets. Clean your fuel injectors, but using a good additive. Better yet, remove fuel injectors and take them to NAPA and pay 15 bucks apiece to professionally clean. Check all pulley bearings to see if they are freely moving. Replace if they show resistance. Tune up car with new wires, plugs, cap, rotor. Finally, you may consider changing the wheel bearings which may be worn out. I hope thew helps you with your problem! Good luck...... |
