I need help. I was driving down the highway when my thermosat all the sudden read 'Hot' seconds later the engine siezed up! The mechanic at the dealership said I had no fluids in the radiator!! How can this be? I never noticed any leaks where I normally park the car and there were no visible signs of tear on any of the hoses or holes on the radiator itself?!! I simply follow the manual's recommendation on flushes and simply leave that for the dealership to handle. What the He** went wrong?!! Will someone please clue me in!!

I had problem with my 1995 millenia. Radiator fluid leaked from the hose connections to the radiator in 2003. I monitored the temperature gauge and the radiator fluid to detect the leak. I had the leak traced and the hose refitted. The radiator cracked in 2005. I had it replaced. Luckily my engine was never seized. At one time the temperature gauge tipped all the way to the H(hot) letter. I turned off the engine and waited for it to cool down before driving to the mechanic. If your engine is seized, I think you may be looking at an expensive repair bill.

Also, the coolant overflow plastic bottles in these cars can develop cracks at the seam and leak slowly.
