Anyone out there have a shop manual on the R2 Diesel Engine that Mazda built?
I need to know the valve timing, I think it is 1,3,4,2 but not sure. Also what are the intake and exhaust valve clearances?

I have one on the RF Diesel and the timing is 1342 and the cleances are IN .008-.012"[.20mm-.30mm] EX .012-.016" [.30mm-.40mm]. Hope this helps!

Can you point me to where I can find that shop manual for a Mazda RF 2ltr diesel engine?
Here in Australia the only RF motors are used Japanese imports. No manuals seem available.(Most parts are here but difficult to make sure you get the right one).

Steve I got mine when I bought the car, but it's for an RF naturally aspirated motor and mine is supercharged, and a different motor!
The manual is genuine Mazda and quite detailed on all the mechanicals and electricals, so if you are interested let me know!
