I have a code 55 on my 1993 mazda 4 cyl automatic and I can not fix the problem with what I have did already. They say I need a new brain for the car, but they are 2000 at the dealer. Can anyone show me where I can find one cheaper? or even help me with this code 55 on it so it doesnt shift into a lower gear without pushing the button on the shifter Help!!!

Who's the "they" who say you need a new computer? I can't give you any help except to say that the computer is usually the last thing to suspect. Typically a sensor of some sort is the problem.
