I have a '93 Mazda 626 DX 5 sp. manual with about 126,600 mi that needs front brakes, a timing chain (last one put in at about 65,000,(am AI living dangerously not having changed that thing yet???) and needs to have the AC charged. Body's in fair shape, the paint's lousy (original champagne), interior o.k., not torn up or anything. Original owner. It still runs well (great pep for a 4 cyl). Gets GREAT GAS MILEAGE!!
Also have a '94 Saturn station wagon 5 sp. manual, that I took over from my nephew when he moved back east. Has 170,000 mi. Body so-so but runs well too.
Doesn't need much done to it as he took pretty good care of the motor side of the car. Doubt he EVER vacumed or washed it.
Then of course, there's the Red '96 Ford Ranger, 5 sp maunal that comes in handy for hauling junk to and from (mainly to!!) the Salvation Army. Has around 70,000 on it. Nice exterior save for the one major crease in the front fender. Have been told that the clutch is slipping and eventually will need a new trans. Presumably those clutches can't be adjusted!?
One of them has to go. What do you think?
