I own a 2001 MPV with only 30,000 miles. The warranty was 3 years or 50K. We are passed 3 years but well under 50K. We have a perfect service record and all documents to show history of service. Does anyone have similar experience? Will Mazda honor their engine and replace it or pay a significant portion of repair costs?

Where is the van? If it is at the dealer have them contact their District Service Manager for goodwill assistance. You are out of the warranty and Mazda is under no legal obligation to pick up any of the cost of repair but if you have a good service history and have been a good customer often they will authorize "goodwill assistance". They usually like to see a good service record from a dealer. It also really helps if the dealer service manager goes to bat for you. Good luck..
