929 Cruiser

Hello,
I have a '92 Mazda 929. My engine is making pinging noises as it cools, after being shut off. It almost sound as if bolts (spark plugges?) are being stressed. I just degreased my engine and changed the spark plugs. I believe I used the right amount of tourqe. I only held onto the top half of the socket wrench, and just snugged up each spark plug. I used anti-seize compound on the threads. I don't know if anti-seize compound is recommended for my vehicle or not. Also there is a faint burning smell coming from the throttle position sensor area. (anti-seize?) Am I just being paranoid? These things could have always been there, but I don't think they were. Any Ideas?
Thanks, -Tim

the noises you hear are normal. that is the sound of the exhaust cooling down. what you hear is the metal expanding and contracting when it cools down.
