I have a 1983 Mazda 626 with 4 cyl 2000 cc engine with carburetor. it has a standard 5 speed transmission.
The car sometimes starts hard. As if it was out of fuel. I can pump the gas pedal and it will start. Sometimes it will idle at high idle until I kick it off to go down to a low "normal" idle. Other times it will just die. You can keep it running by feathering the gas pedal. Otherwise it stalls as if it has no fuel. I have replaced the fuel pump, put a different "used" carb on it. I have replaced dist cap, rotor, plugs and wires. I am wondering if it has a vacuum problem or some sensor that I am not seeing under the hood. I have given a glance to all the vacuum lines and the SEEM to be ok.
Any ideas ?
