I want to put an electric cooling fan on my p/u and remove the belt driven one. There is a temp sensor in the bottom tank of the radiator. Does anyone know what the operating temp of this switch is? Is there a different switch that would be better to use? I want the fan to cycle on/off around 210 degrees.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Brad

As a guess, I'd say the switch probably operates at about 140-150 degrees.
IMO, having the fan cycling at 210 won't give you much operating leeway. It takes the fan time to cool things, and if it doesn't operate before 210, the temperature overshoot before it starts to drop will possibly cause you to lose coolant through the overflow.

Have you checked to see whether the radiator sensor opens or closes at temp? It needs to close if you're thinking of using it to operate the fan. It would also have to be able to handle the fan motor current draw, unless you use a relay.
