Have a Mazda 626, 1999.. Just bough a new battery this past december 2006. My Charging light came on yesterday. What causes this? Do I need yet another battery or even worst? Also whenthe engine's rpm's are rev'ed up the charging light goes dimmer and then even off.

There are several possibilities. First, check to make sure that the battery posts and terminals are free of any corrosion on the mating surfaces and clean as necessary. Also check the alternator belt for correct tension. If the light still dims when you rev the engine, have them check the alternator at AutoZone, as it could be defective.
