The day before yesterday I was driving along and suddenly my car died but restarted itself. This happened 3 times within the 3 minutes it took me to get of the highway. I pulled over and discovered the radiator was bone dry. The radiator was purchased brand new and installed maybe 2 years ago. I added fluid and figured that was that. It was fine for the rest of the day.
The next morning it died 3 or 4 more times within 5 minutes so I turned around to go back home and it was fine for the 5 minute drive back. It seems to run fine once the engine has warmed up.
I'll be driving and the engine cuts off. All the dash lights come on, radio stays on (I think). It's just like after you turn the key to the second click but before actually starting the engine. After it died I reactively pressed the accelerator and it always restarted itself with a little jerk.
Radiator, spark plugs, fuel filter/fuel line are all about 2 years old. This car was not driven for about 2 weeks before this. |
