Has anyone heard anything about mazda b2200 performance parts? I have an 88 b2200 and I have fixed it up very nicely, best in town. But its lacking one thing, performance. I need it to be faster.....can you help me???

I know what You mean, it seems like there is nothing
out there. Check out carparts.com Headers (w/smog and ox input) and cams. I have not installed the
headers yet, I have been told they will help to wake
it up a little. Then, mix a K&N air filter in the
standard air cleaner box.
I have a 88 B2200 4sp auto cab-plus owned it since
it was new. about 250k miles, I put a new build in this
at 217k. Its cranking about 120hp at 6000rpm, so I
have been a little leary of putting anything else on
it. This thing flat moves. 9.5 to 1 compression
with better ignition system a little larger plug gap.
And its balanced as well.
good luck Doug M

Check it out the B2200 is the same block as what is in a 89-93 ford probe turbo and MX6 turbo. Thus the turbo will bolt on with same minor adjustments. I'm right in the middle of installing mine right now.

I have a fairly Fast B2200 here's what I have done.
Balanced/peened crank
new bored over .30 pistons, Ti rings
9.5 to 1 compression
Stainless valves, Ti springs,
open air filter on top of carb
removed entire EGR system ( still pass Canadian Air Care )
S.S. Header
Cam
Valve Cover Breather
Centerforce Clutch
Full 2.25 exhaust, with 1 Cat, 1 resonator, 1 super turbo muffler,
The rest is the standard lowrider stuff, 6/8 drop, custom interior, etc.
As for buddy and his turbo, u cant really do that unless you switch to a B2200 I setup which isnt much fun and turbo's arent reliable, build a motor like mine and run Nos and you'll be screamin, Mine's coming but I gotta break this thing in first.

If your truck is carburated like mine is you can do a few things with the carb and intake. Port and Polish the intake, Porting will add some power and if you swirl the intake runners you'll get better fuel mixture and SLIGHTLY better gas mileage. You can get and after market weber carburator which they make an outlaw performance version or if you want to make an adapter plate find a First gen RX-7 4 barrel carb, the earlier you go the less emitions. you will have to modify the intake a bit as well. This will give you much more room to breath than the weber carb. From what I have heard the Weber can handle about 3000 cc, the RX carb is essentially 2 B2200 carbs stuck together and is rated for about 4500 cc. I'm adapting one right now but it will be a while, my truck has mostly stock exsaust and right now it chokes to death in its power bands. I'll add a post when I get it done.
