Even though our teams are rivals i would like to guess that Jenna Gantner is going to be the next all-AMerican, she's got da skills and the speed.

Gantner deserved to make schoolgirls, but the whole thing is politics! Believe me, I played for the team, and that's all it is. Besides, she's improved so much since last year that I won't be surprised about any awards that she receives.

what?

by fan

Keating is the best all around player this year at WMC. She deserved more recognition last year.

The coach (of any team) is most influential in who gets the awards. WMC had some girls in the past who didn't get AA because the program was still trying to get respect/recognition. Last year's AA were not necessarily the best players to come out of WMC's program, they were just lucky to be there when NJ's other coaches finally gave WMC its due. And by the way, if you polled other players in NJ, the AA didn't even go to the best player last year. So, yes, the coach has a lot to say about it.

Keating, hope your coach likes you! Good luck this season.

yeah i agree with you. if you polled all the best players in the state last year - AA didn't go to the best lacrosse player at West Morris last year.

what???

No Tara Morley was awarded that honor and award fair and square, she was an awesome (and still is) lax player and especially deserved that award.

fair and square?

by anonymous

Yeah, and I bet you think Bush got more votes than Gore. Teams playing WMC were not worried about morley. Just because you love her doesn't make it fair and square. Life isn't fair and square and politics in all areas rules. Hope your coach likes you a lot.

Any truth about WMC and Mendham?

by Anonymous

Rumors are flying about contract disputes being settled by coaches boycotting practices and threatening to cancel spring sports. There can't be any truth to this, can there?

Other Shore teams to watch: Long Branch (good defense!), Jackson, and don't rule out RBC!

Any comments?
