all you on this forum are fags, hillsboro should have won all their games this year but due to bad circumstances they lost 10. Oh well they are still better than all of you.
hey i saw that message you posted up in the year 2000 and well......... did you see hillsborough's record this yea, hum yea i think you can say the same can you?
Hi. I'm developing a website that contains info about where girls lax players from around the country wil be headed this fall. If anyone can send me some info about who's going where, i'd appreciate it. My address is laxer39@email.com
Last year the list was posted on the US Lacrosse website (www.uslacrosse.org). I haven't checked so I don't know if this year's list is posted. Any of the schoolgirls players...did they announce the A-A list at the tourney?
they announced the names of HS All Americans, and there didn't seem to be any from NJ, which was very surprising. I know that there are definitely some girls that deserve this honor and I was schocked that I didn't know any of the names announced. Does anyone else have any info?
Yeah, she's good. I'm not certain about All-American though. I mean look, her team lost in their first round of states. Shouldn't an All-American goalie at least be able to carry her team to the second round. And their record was nothing to boast either. She couldn't've stopped too many goals.
Against b-water in the 1st round, she held them to 6, 3 less than the first time hc played the panthers. But the offense didn't come through. This happens often.
Also, look at her defense. If anyone reads the trenton Times, you will see that she saw about 150 more shots than any other goalkeeper in the area, boys or girls. She has more saves than 90% of them have shots total. She doesn't get much help. There are people on their starting back line who were jv benchwarmers last year. I would bet that her stopping ability was much different in the National Tournament (ie: with better defenders)
I'll admit, though, we were surprised to hear she's an all american.
A great player can be on a team without a terrific record. Should that penalize the outstanding player? Here's an example: If N. Battaglia of Mendham played for West Morris, is their any doubt that she would be their high scorer? And no, I'm not from Mendham HS. This is an example of a good attack player being on a barely .500 team.
Battaglia could NEVER be the high scorer for WMC. The only reason she scores is because she barrel-asses herself in and takes wild shots. WMC playes a fast-paced offence, one she could never handel. She tires easily and would, and has been left far behind WMC players. Also, her players only look for her to score and she takes tons of shots...that's why she scores a lot. I bet her shooting percentage is horrible.
Can anyone direct me to where I can find the Boys Lacrosse all-americans from New Jersey during the 1970's? I would very much appreciate your help on this.
Thank you,
Jackcoach
I can only speak for the nj 1 team.
1st day- we went 3-0 with a big win over mid atlantic 2, who is basically chesapeake and south combined (those who remember last year's format).
2nd day- we went 1-1. Our first game of the day was a loss to upper atlantic 3, our rivals from philly. they are a dirty team...anyway, they knocked us out of the playoff round. We played a consolation round game against new york 1 (a long island team that won their division last year i think) and beat them.
We won our pool, and placed in the top 7 or so overall. Not too bad.
Catherine Seals is an exceptional athlete! She has been captain of soccer and basketball, and now of lax, which shows she is a versitile player, and can definitely be named an all state player.
There are lots of good players, but only 12--one at each position-- make each team (first, second, third). How your team does is important, too. Someone who scores alot but is on a so-so team will probably not make first team, no matter how good they are. Who picks it--the STAR LEDGER reporter? Do coaches nominate? There were some questionable ones last year. Just wondering.
She had a really strong season and put aside her individual statistics, to play in the team concept. Shawnee had a down year, but only for them. This was Moorestown's year, they were great. Kate is a strong solid player and certainly one of the elite in the state.
Seals has great speed for transition and incredible defensive skills. Why shouldn't she be considered? All-State is about making it happen on the field, not necessarily who could teach stick skills.
So sick of the Ledger's coverage of girls lacrosse. On May 8, you had two big games and neither one was covered. Plus, how come boys lacrosse gets a top 15 and girls a top ten when there are roughly the same number of teams?
