Hi to anyone that may visit this site.
It looks a bit dead at the moment, but it only takes one or two of us to liven the place up.
I am on the brink of moving to Canvey, and hope I won't be grey haired and in my rocker by the time someone replies to this post.lol
I am middle aged happily married and have 4 children.

Anything to oblige a potentially grey haired lady. However, I'm a blow in from the past, now in NSW Aust.
I came seeking info of an old friend, or rather a young one I last saw at six years old (am now 44)prior to transportation around the globe via assisted passage.
I did NOT like leaving this first true friend!

So there, you have been answered!

Best wishes, hope you love the place, I did back in 1965. Once you get used to ships sailing by UP on the horizon, you're home and hosed.

Hi David.
Once I move to the Island, perhaps there would be some way I could help you fing your friend.
I don't mind trying to help. Let me know if there is anything I can do.

NSW?
Small world.
I was there when you were in Canvey.
I lived in Panania near Bankstown from 1965 to 1970.
Where are you now?

Hi Layne, you might be better going into the other Canvey site, more people seem to use it. www.canveyislandhistory.com

Hi

I've not been on this forum a while - I usually use the one on Geoff Barsby's site.
Check out the new sister site to www.ConcreteBarge.co.uk - A new site dedicated to Canvey Island Photographs/PostCards etc

www.CanveyIsland.org.uk

Enjoy!

THE THE LADY WHO WILL BE GOING GREY AND MOVING ONTO CANVEY, ALL I CAN SAY IS
DONT DO IT!!!
YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, YOU CAN READ ALL THE THINGS SAID ABOUT CANVEY, BUT I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT WAS IN THE PAST WHEN CANVEY WAS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE, IT IS JUST A DUMP NOW, AND A DUMPING GROUND, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY A LOT MORE BUT I DONT THINK I HAD BETTER AT THE MOMENT. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY MOVED THERE I SUGGEST YOU MOVE BACK OFF A SOON AS POSSIBLE , YOU JUST DONT KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE LET YOURSELF IN FOR.
