Went to Lake Amador today 1/10/04 with my son Bill Jr. and friend Israel Garcia. Left Newark at 4:35 AM and arrive at 7:15 AM. Launch and went to a point around to the right and started fishing using Shelton's 6 pound test quick release hooks with 36 inch leader at the end of 6 pound light spinning tackle equipped with TadPole™ snagless weights. Fishing was very good, at one point we had 4 trout on at one time with me using my second rod stamp. The majority of the fish were between 3 and 4 pound with some smaller fish in the 1.5 to 2 pound range. For bait we were using Berkley chartreuse green sparkle Power bait. You may say it was and incredible day of fishing. We released 4 fish untouched by hand or net using the quick release hooks and full limits of 15 fish came home with us for a big family shore lunch. Tips; fish only the points with gentle slopes and fish very close to shore. Use 36 inch leaders in about 6-10 feet of water. If no fish after 20 minutes at a point then move to a new point. These fish really fight well and or real jumpers. We had a couple of Kodiak moments when a unnamed person dropped his cell phone in the water and did his imitation of a big grizzly trying to catch a salmon. To make the day even more exciting this same unnamed person dropped the large go home fish and when it was just going in the water he jumped in the water like Jeremiah Johnson and fanned it back to dry land. What a day! I still laughing over that. I have pictures and video, but new security system wont let me in to post them on my server. I will follow with picture asap.
      Thanks Bill Shelton
