POLLIE CORRUPTION STORY OF THE DAY

MEDIA RAT

Today's story features one of the most corrupt of the 109, Mr JEFFEREY NAPE.

Today we are told that:

"The Ombudsman Commission has issued a directive to all governors, MPs, departmental heads, banks and respective joint district planning and budget priorities committees, not to use or entertain any District Support Grant during the election period."

But the Speaker of Parliament Jeffrey Nape has described their directive as illegal. He is calling on the Ombudsman Commission to withdraw their instructions on the DSIP.

He said the law has already been passed and certified last month by him.

"I have certified the law and I am calling on OC to withdraw their instructions because the law has been certified," he said.

[Violators of the DSIP funding use can be prosecuted either under the Leadership Code or under Section 23 of the Constitution which allows for sanctions that would attract imprisonment for jail terms not exceeding 10 years or fines not exceeding K10,000]

OBVIOUSLY NAPE IS DISHING OUT DSIP FUNDS RIGHT AND LEFT AS IF THEY'RE HIS CAMPAIGN MONIES. BUT HE WON'T BE PROSECUTED AND WON'T GO TO JAIL BECAUSE THIS IS PNG.
