New Government to stamp out corruption
The new government will stamp out corruption during its term in office, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has announced,
“We will run a country of transparency and accountability. We will run a country where we stamp out corruption whenever it occurs.” Mr O’Neill said.
“Public money will be used for public benefit, not to enrich a few at the expense of the many, not wasted away on pet projects that do not make sense.”
The Prime Minister said when a government runs a corruption-free, progressive economy, then people can get ahead and build life for their families, that is the direction the People’s National Congress Party is pursuing.
“Corruption is the number one obstacle in delivering the services that our people deserve to them.
“Thus I repeat that nobody will be protected, not Ministers, not MP’s, not senior public servants – if they are.”
Mr O’Neill said everyone is subject to the same law and this government will take the lead in tackling corruption.
