Engan threat on security
THE people of Kandep in the Enga Province have threatened to chase public servants away if their part of the provincial highway is not made safer.
Governor Peter Ipatas said from Wabag on Wednesday that the people from Kandep want him and Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Don Polye to get police to travel along the highway between Kandep and Laiagam to protect travellers.
“The people have threatened me and told me that if I don’t do anything for the safety of the people, then they would chase all the public servants out of Kandep District Office,” he said.
Mr Ipatas said on Monday he went to Kandep to start his provincial district tour and the people had expressed these concerns to him.
