Is Sana's Appointment Similar to Moses Tawa's AppointmentJune 26 2005 at 7:42 AM | anti-somare |
| Fellow Papua New Guineans,
Im very critical about the recent appointment of Sana to the PNG Power Board. Could such appointment be similar to Moses Tawa's when he was appointment as commissioner of Public Services Commission by his brother- Fomer Member for Imbonggu, Peter Peipul.
If that case is similar to Peipul's being dismissed from office, could Sir Somare be subject to Ombudsman and face Leadership Tribunal of appointing family members and close relatives?

The Ombudsman commission should step in immediately - bottom line is that the PM should be removed from office!
Papua New Guineans are no longer as stupid as they think! We can see what is happening.
I urge the PM to reverse his decision in this instance. He has done a great job to move the nation forward but this appointment is potentially dangerous - it may leave a black mark on his legacy. |

The differences are level power and influence - Peipul was a Minister - Sir Michael is the Prime Minister. This is PNG politics, just draw the line and come up with a logic. The conclusion is our laws are being intepreted with power and money, maybe threat and intimination!
You can argue with me on this....but thats were the bark stops.

This issue shouldn't be swept under the carpet - the Ombudsman and other 'law enforcement' agencies in PNG should react to this appointment because so far as the National Constitution is concerned the Law of the Land should prevail and be resolute. The previous case which involved Peter Peipul's brother should be taken into account as a precedence, and therefore the PM (Somare) should be held accountable for his decision.
To put it simple - this is 'nepotism' and abuse of previlege as a constutional office holder. Sir Michael Thomas Somare MUST be prosecuted under the Law.

Nepotism' and abuse of powers in Somares' government by appointing his own men.
Why can't ombudsman commission looking into this corruption?
