Oro! Oro! Oro!....Where are you Mr. MP - To all Oro Man & Woman

Oro Kaivan

To all true Oro man and women...!!

It is sad and true, and is a contributing factor to the detiorating condition of our province; Oro, and for that matter our country Papua New Guinea. Where are our leaders..?? Where are our chosen elect..?? Where is the HOPE we thought would redeem us once we put YOU in that chair, in that seat and in that house. For years and years we have been promised with lies and deciet...most of us are uneducated, but because we belived in you, we trust in you, and we have hope in you... that YOU...you would be the one to think not of yourself but but for your country, your province and epecially your people. Where are you MR. MEMBER of PARLIMENT...??

I call on every true Oro Man and Woman to take a stand, not for yourselves, but for your children and for your children's children and for the all that will come hereafter, to not think of yourselves, to not vote in someone who thinks of himself. It has now come to the time that we stand up raise our voices up high to elect a TURE and HONEST and reliable ORO Man or Woman.

I hope that we forget ourselves and our way of thinking, our way of putting those we know first, our way putting our wantoks first. I hope we do see our wantok system as a means and form of corrupt behavior, as in todays PNG society, this stems down to most corrupt actions and deals that occur everywhere in our country. I erge that we choose that true Oro Man that will finally bring hope to every Oro boy and girl, man and woman who are entitled to it.

This is a call out to those who call yourself true Oro man and woman that you will honesly put somebody in there that will truly bring some light to our wonderful province. Let us all unite as one people, as true Oro people and make this coming election (2007) one that we all will not regret.

Oro! oro! Oro!

Oro-4-Oro Attitude is Backward

June 22 2006, 10:29 AM

Oro had the chances of voting in highly educated elites in the likes of Prof. John Waiko and the former Ijivitari MP,John Kaumi who was also highly educated, and both pure Oro. They proved nothing and built their homes in Port Moresby. As far as I know they only turned up at the times of election with empty promises.
The Oro-4-Oro attitude has brought Oro nowhere. It is a dead province in terms of infrastructural developments, if oil palm as a form of cash crop was not introduced in the province, I am definitely sure it would have been run like a district of Morobe or Central and currently existing roads linking Kokoda and Oro Bay would never be in existence now.
It is a very small province in terms geo-demographical parameters, no real development has eventuated by the initiation of your Oro MPs since independence. Most of the buidings in Popondetta town are all pre-independence and hope the worst in rural areas. It starts at the Girua Airstrip when you touch down from Port Moresby, a narrow opening surrounded by tall grasses and the terminal is torn apart. The Oro Provincial Government building is a total eye sore, it is a history, probably left behind after WW2. Other provinces are far ahead of Oro because of their openess to other people.
Most parts of Ijivitari and Sohe is inexcessible by road and all other baisc services in the area (Sakarina,Itukama, Ioma, etc) have totally fallen apart.
Law and order is a bigger problem in Oro province than elsewhere and hence brand named 'Cowboy Country'. There are too many amputees in Oro than anywhere else in PNG, not because of natural diseaes but from the hands of the police.
The Oro Province is totally ruined by the Oros themselves, the bits and pieces of existing government services and the private sectors is run by non-Oros. If it was not for these outsiders to be in positions to make better decisions to atleast keep Oro going, it should be much worse than it is now.
Can you true Oro Kaivan substantiate your remarks with regards to Oro representation in parliament by a non-Oro who did not deliver to the people? Blame yourselves, Oros, and stop pointing fingers at other PNGeans. I challenge you to grow up and think PNGean, stop being a narrow minded Oro Kaivan and therefore the Oro-4-Oro attitude is backward and should stop. If you claim to be an educated Oro-Kaivan, where do you stand amongst other Papua New Guineans?

Name kisso ??

Inge ve nau Namei-kamei eto Du,

The story is the same...you can't teach an 'old dog new tricks'.

Regardless how educated one is or how comitted one is in developing our beloved Oro one can't accomplished one's aspirations for the province without the support and comitment of the people. Unfortunately, true be told this (support) is what you will not get in Oro...from Gewansasap to Pupuan Waria and from Orobay up to the foothills of Mt. Victoria, the people of Oro as so full of themselves...take it from a true blue Oro...born, bled educated in Oro and darn comitted in seeing my province move forward. But the likes of me needs the support of our people...we need government infrastructure to be respected and not destroyed, we need the bank to be open not held by thugs, we need the school to be open and the children to be in school and wondering around in the four corner town aimlessly and foremost we need our fellow Oro Kaivans to learn to listen to the opinions of others and learn to work together, building on each others strength. We need to learn to be humble and possibly learn from the wisdoms of some the by gone Oro greats like George Ambo, the Kekodos' (Walter and Mary) and the late David Hand (who was probably more Orokaivan than some of us.)

Unless a true son or daughther of Oro that commands the respect of the populace comes around we will be drifting from one disaster to another. From what I hear the same circus crowns will be vieing for the 3 seats again. Truely from our mists, I can't think of anyone who could put his or her hand up, be counted and command the respect of the people. I am not underestimating anyone of you my learned nameis and dus but I just can't pick one of us from the crowd...and mind you, our (oro) crowd extends throughout the whole global from Capetown to London and Bonn and from Alaska to Agrentina and all the the lands in-between.

I've said enough so I'll stop here. Parting note, my predictions for 2007 is that we could easily end up with 3 crowns from the same circus that premiers every 5 years at the Lamington Hotel.

Let the Young Rise...

July 7 2006, 10:05 AM

My fellow Oro Citizens,

It is so true to many of the comments and opinions made here concerning our beautiful Oro and especially to our so called Oro leaders of our Province. We can't deny this fact, but we cannot also deny the fact that there is potential there somewhere amougst us, to rise up out of these calamities, to rise up out of this mindset and attitue of wanting to be the next name of fame for power and authority and selflessness.

Of course the cause of globalozation has had great impact on suh a young country like ours, and with that comes all sorts of consequences. Such consequences are seen through the leaders as positives and negetives. Our Oro leaders in the past have served the people and we can for sure go on to critize however and whatever for as long as we desire and nobody would honestly care. But one things for sure, and that is to learn and improve and continue to help and serve our people.

We talk about our attitude and its effects, we can certainly pin point and shout out names of all the culprits and all the dishonesty and all the corruption that goes on with our leaders especially, and that has now seem to be a norm for everybody and frankly, that seems to be what we are actually good at. It has now become instilled in our minds that we turn to bring out the bad in everything wrong that happens...which I think is normal...but..!! yet we still blame others for attitute problems. Interlectually our conscious settles at a state over time when exposed to such negativism where we can even rationalise good as bad and bad as good, thus we turn not to be as careful as we ought to be, leading to careless, relentless behaviour in action, thought and in speech.

It is time we all should stop this attitude of rentless, careless behavior and start to thick positive in all that we do and say and think. I know that when we all start to correct ourselves by any proper means possible we will rise up and choose that leader who has similiar qualtilies.

Oro man and woman are just the same as every other Papua New Guniean who is taking a leading role in helping push his or her province forward economically, educationally, socially etc.... Our young generation I know have yet to be ingnited with a little more enthusiasm and agressiveness with the right attitute to show that we Oro can be up there like the rest of the other provinces.

I erge that we should Oro people who love Oro so much, to put an end to this Negativism in behaviour and attitude and help ourselves first, then help others. I erge that we the Young of Oro should rise to see what is right and needful for our people, not thinking of ourselves but for other, for our land, our people and even our children and their children to come.

This I hope for a better future for Oro that lies in our own hands. God bless Oro...!!

David Arore is a conman and who said that he is going to run this show? He don't have any financial back ups that he is going to run this show down.Money talks, thats how we Papua New Guineans are, not like any conman on the street can stand for the 2007 election and run the show down.

Get back to you!

Re: Run the show

If this is your mentality you certainly deserve the inferior leadership that you have had for quite some time.
The attitude that money talks is pathetic.
I happen to know Charles Mota and know that he won't be going in to this with much more than honest aspirations to make his area a better place. He is giving up a wellpaid job to do this for his people. If they are going to vote for someone who they know is a conman just because they respect the fact that he has money to throw around then they are no better than the voters in NCD.The difference between them and the voters in NCD is that they are landowners and the NCD voters are mostly all settlers who could n't giving a flying phuck about the long term benefits as they are here for todays gains only.

How do you know

August 25 2006, 6:38 AM

How do you know that David Arore is a con man who has he conned and what has he gotten out of all his coning....perhaps it's more a fact that you prefer Charles Mota to David Arore ...I suggest that you dont even know David Arore and I also suggest that David too would have given up a well paid job....its all a much of a muchness .......no great miracles will come out of any one person in any one area the change MUST start at the top and work its way down the chain ...

This is where postings become confusing.I posted a support for Charles Mota but wasn't the same "Anonymous" who spoke about David being a conman.
I know them both and if I were home i would probably give 1 to Charles and maybe 2 or 3 to David.

For sure not those three 'Idles' again....they make many of us proud Oro Kaivans feel that we are incompetent and incapable of running our electorates, and province. We need better brighter aggressive intelligent and most of all honest leaders.

Enoug is enough. Lets change Oro together.
