It saddens every time when an MP or his Family gets sick and have to be medivac to an Australian Hospital for medical treatment particularly Queensland. Recently Arthur Somare has to be flown to Australia, Bill Skate and the names keeps on going down the lane.
Lets look at a simple villager who cannot afford to fly or be medivac for treatment overseas he just have to wait and die !!!
How many times are the MP's in and out of parliment keep on ignoring these simple facts of life that we must equip our hospitals in the country to cater for current treatments now only rich and MP's can afford overseas.
I feel very very sorry for those who have to suffer and just die for now curable disease like cancer and other sicknesses.
We must stand together and have our MP's to increase the hospitals budget and also budget for new threatment machines.

You are right.It is no use spending money on services when we cannot keep people alive long enough to use those services.
It is easier for MP's etc to opt for the more expensive and better health care from Australia as they are covered under a medical scheme that pays for this better service.Maybe they would put more focus on delivering better health care for their people if Gov't no longer paid their subscription for private health care and they had to put their hands in their own pockets,for a change.
