Who in this country want the current government to continue to be in power? I guess not a lot of PNGeans from the way Somare is running the country.

I really wonder if persons like Karpa Yarka and Dickson Maki know what they are doing in parliament.

Maybe Karpa NEEDS this extension to orchestrate a fast conversion of Laiagam into 'Little America' before elections...will not be surprised if the Somare Gov't withdraw K600 million from Sepik and started building 'little america' in Laiagam district.

This fello must be crazy in everything he is doing. First he wanted to or introduced to allow leaders not to face leadership tribunal. Now he is there again to extend the polling dates to a year.....Please, MPs are doing all they can to by-pass the National Constitution that governs the country. How many times this constitution will be amended by the current government within its five year term in power? It is not Karpa Yakka with this bill, someone is at the back using him to propose and sponsor this lousey bill. They are using him like a puppet...Shameful Yarka. As clever he is and having been an Ambassador to many different countries and also a person with high educational qualification is dumfounded enough to do this. I can't belief this....This is really stupid and does not make a sense at all.

Just imagine how much the Electrol Commission has spent over the last few months leading up to the coming election. A huge amount of the tax payers money has been spent.

What are the strategies to be implemented to extend the polling dates????
Somare led government shortened the polling dates from 10 weeks or something to 4 or 6 weeeks and now Karpa Yarka is there with his arm stretched to extend the polling dates...There is something interesting happening....

Gran Niggah needs to stay PM long enough so he can make sure all those bucks end up in ESP.

This is a major constitutional amendment and requires a minimum of 2 parliament sessions and secondly a 2/3rd majority must support and vote for the change. Unfortunately this will not happen cause there is only one parliament session left before the elections.....

...poor Karpa Yarkka must be a so stupid and can't realise realities....

This is Yarkka's first and last term as MP. He's peeing in his pants at the thought of leaving his seat for another.

My God I was astounded when I read what people in Enga believed and elected him for (see below past). In general is this kind of dreamland voting common in Enga?

I had no idea until now that the little america cargo cult has lasted for 5 years in Enga province. are there any other little america cargo cults in PNG or is this the only one.

The people of Laiagam (Porgera) want to know the hiding place of our local MP, Kappa Yarka.

Mr Yarka, you have assured the people of Laiagam during the election in 2002 that Laiagam district will be converted to Little America if you are elected.

People have cast their votes to you thinking that you would implement your policy. And where is the little America? Do not fool the people of Laiagam for the second time this election, please.

When you were in America, someone from Laiagam was in Australia. And also we all know your reasons for teaming up with Peter Ipatas. Do not assume that we are still in the early 1980s.
