The entire text below directly cut and paste from today's post courier.Maxtone Graham made a complete mockery and fool of himself with such unsubstantiate views, which he kept to himself all these times while he was in parliament. why can't he address all these issues he nicely outlined when he first elected into parliment? What a complete bu**** politics? I think, a man of his calibre and leadership should have better policies than what he mentioned. What do you think?

" Party slams monopolies"

GOVERNMENT-owned and sanctioned monopolies are strangling industries, business and ordinary Papua New Guineans to death.
That’s the view of the PNG Country Party and its leader Jamie Maxtone-Graham.
In a press conference yesterday, Mr Graham hit out at the National Government, particularly the Public Enterprises ministry in delaying other mobile operators to compete with Telikom.
He said: “Telikom provides an unreliable and costly communication services to industries and people, Pacific Mobile sells the most expensive mobile services in the world and yet we, as leaders, are turning a blind eye on these facts.”
Mr Maxtone Graham also named other monopolies such as “Hanjung Power selling the most expensive electricity in the world to Port Moresby residents, PNG Power providing unreliable and costly electricity to industry and residents in cities and towns, Halla Cement selling the most expensive cement in the world to our local industries and small people, Air Niugini selling the most expensive domestic air travel seats in the world to our grassroots people, Napanapa refinery selling the most expensive fuel in the world to our industries and villagers’’.
“We are concerned about Ramu Sugar selling the most expensive sugar in the world to our people.
“We are concerned about the cartel that exists between Air Niugini and Qantas selling the most expensive international seats between Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns and Port Moresby.
“We are concerned about the cartel that exists among coastal shipping companies providing the most expensive domestic shipping service in the world to the ordinary rural villagers of PNG.”
He said the PNG Country party was shouting out loudly and clearly – enough is enough, 31 years of raping and pillaging our home that God has given to us must stop now and forever more.
The party, if successful, will get rid of these monopolies and invite other competitors to enter these markets, Mr Maxtone Graham said.

Small countries with small economies simply don't have the ability to support several competitors. That being the case, I'd trust a government run monopoly to have lower prices than a profit making private company having that monopoly. Maxtone Graham is full of it just like so many pollie wannabes who reckon that they're smarter than you and me.

This man is lieing through his teeth! Here is a man who now wants to potray himself as a saint with absolutely no monkeys on his back! Here is a man who has fully used the government's system to make more money than one can imagine when he was part of the PDM gang under the former PM Wingti. Does he really think that Papua New Guineans are bunch of pigs with no recollection of histroy about how corrupt the PDM government was? I am literally sick of leaders recycling themseleves and trying to make the prdinary person(s) think that nothing is wrong with them..

Jami Graham is a second hand by product of Wingti and Wingti is a second hand by product of Somare. The line of corruption and political sewage flowing from Somare through wingti to Jami Graham is very obvious. But of course Minj people are so blind they will continue to vote hime.
