THE nomination of Star Alliance founder Dr Clement Waine for the Simbu Regional seat was withdrawn by the Electoral Commission last Friday.
The Electoral Commission acted upon legal advice to reject Dr Waine’s nomination because he did not nominate in the province as required by law but nominated in Port Moresby before the nominations closed last Thursday.
An electoral commission official said yesterday, an instruction communicated to Simbu provincial election manager John Elle was misunderstood, causing him to include Dr Waine’s name on the list and in the draw.
“He (Elle) misunderstood (Electoral Commissioner Mr Andrew) Trawen’s direction,” the official said.
“He did not nominate in the province. Acting on legal advice, his name was withdrawn,” the official said.
The withdrawal prompted Dr Waine’s supporters to demand explanations from Mr Elle, who told them that he was only acting on legal advice.
The number of supporters swelled outside the Kondom Agaundo provincial building last Friday demanding to know the status of Dr Waine’s nomination.
A staunch supporter of Dr Waine, Iambakey Yugomuno said they wanted to know why their candidate was rejected after his nomination was initially accepted and listed on the draw for candidates last Thursday.
Other candidates for the Simbu provincial seat were also calling on the Electoral Commission to explain to their satisfaction why they accepted Dr Waine’s nomination when he could not come to Kundiawa to nominate.
They said the one week allowed for candidates to nominate was ample time and they could not understand why Dr Waine could not make it to Kundiawa to nominate before 4:06pm last Thursday.
Officials from the Stars Alliance party were last night consulting lawyers in Port Moresby to file an urgent application to try to restore Dr Waine to the ballot papers.

THE lawyer representing Stars Alliance Party founder Dr Clement Waine has written to Electoral Commissioner Andrew Trawen asking him to restore Dr Waine’s name as a candidate for Simbu regional seat.
Lawyer Greg Manda of Greg Manda Lawyers told Mr Trawen his client had nominated, and this has been accepted by provincial returning officer John Elle in accordance with law.
Mr Manda said “the law does not require the physical presence of the candidate in the electorate at the time of the nomination”.
“… there is no provision in the Organic Law on Elections empowering your good office to retract an acceptance of a nomination or remove a candidate’s name after the close of nomination except when a candidate withdraws his nomination on his own accord,” Mr Manda wrote.
He pointed out that refusing Dr Waine’s nomination was tantamount to a breach of his right to stand for public office guaranteed under Section 50(2)(d) of the Constitution.
He said as a scientist in the US, Dr Waine was risking a lot just to run for an elective office to represent the people of Simbu, and his right cannot be denied.
Since sending the letter to Mr Trawen on Monday, Mr Manda noted that he had not received any response.
He said if no response was received by 10am today, he would seek legal action, including an injunction to halt the elections in the interest of his client.
In Kundiawa, spokes-man for Waine supporters Iambakey Yugomuno said they still could not accept the rejection of Dr Waine’s nomination.
The supporters fronted up at the Kondom Augando Simbu provincial government building and demanded an explanation from the Electoral Commission.
The atmosphere was tense, but there was no trouble.
Waine’s supporters commended
POLICE in Kundiawa have praised supporters of Stars Alliance Party leader Dr Clement Waine for maintaining peace following the decision by the Electoral Commission to disqualify him from contesting the Simbu Regional seat.
Provincial police commander Supt Jimmy Onopia said the supporters had accepted the Electoral Commission’s decision without resorting to causing disturbance in town, as was widely feared.
Since announcing his intention to contest, Dr Waine had commanded a lot of following in the province and had been seen as one of the favourites for the Regional seat.
Since last Thursday, supporters and tribesmen of Dr Waine had been fronting up at the gates of the Kondom Agaundo House in Kundiawa town demanding to know why their candidate was not running after his name was withdrawn last Friday morning.
However, Supt Onopia said he had been with Dr Waine since Monday discussing the issue with the Simbu election manager John Elle and so the situation was now with the justice system to decide.
Dr Waine’s lawyer Gregory Manda is taking up the case in court.

For over a year SAP supporters have been posting propoganda on the internet and in their social circles in Port Moresby about the Star Alliance Party and their chairman Dr Clement Waine a scientist based in the US. Most of those people drawn to the flame of the SAP were UPNG alumni, science graduates and chemist graduates mostly highlanders from Simbu or the Eastern Highlands, and mostly people with no real life experience and no practical working experience and no capability to test the sweet rhetoric and fancy gimmicks of their leader the Good Doctor.
The Good Doctor was not content with being a scientist representing PNG abroad, he wanted to be a political leader but not just a political leader he wanted to be the real deal a first term Prime Minister. His disciples took hold of this dream and started building the Doctor Waine's bandwagon. Stories started being circulated in Simbu about the scientist in America returning with US$2million to fund his campaign. Aspiring SAP candidates started spreading stories through the highlands and Port Moresby about Doctor Waine being an advisor to President Bush and being funded by the Jewish Lobby to take power in PNG for the rightous. The bandwagon started picking up speed. Dr Waine started setting the foundation for his economic management credentials by writing long articles about his views on PNG economic growth and national debt and the performance of the past Prime Ministers. While university economic lecturers s******ed at these articles SAP supporters use the articles to promote the economic substance of their leader and promoting the SAP policies which they put up on a incomplete and hastily put together website. SAP policies were promoted like forcing Toyota to build a factory in PNG.
The bandwagon started hitting real speed. The website announced that the leader would launch SAP at a major rally at the Sir John Gius Stadium in Port Moresby in July 2006. When that date came and went, the website promised August 2006. Then the website promised September 2006 and finally January 2007. As each date slipped away, new promises were made.
SAP officials emptied their bank accounts and resigned from their jobs. Young naive men two or three years into promising careers with families to support emptied bank accounts and put on hold their professional careers to run for elections in seats that they had no hope of winning.
With the writs issues, still the SAP leader was no where to be seen. As SAP candidates started nominating for seats around the highlands, the leader was present in PNG in spirit communicating with his supporters by email and phone calls from his base in the United States. Whispers started that maybe the SAP leader was not coming and was having second thoughts. Hardcore SAP supporters held strong to their faith in their leader he would not desert them like this when they had spent so much of their little kina and toea and sacrificed thier family's futures for their leader's grand plan to become a first term Prime Minister.
SAP supporters waited. Their leader would come and nominate in the last week of nominations. As Monday counted to Thursday and with each flight of Air Niugini touched Hagen and Goroka airport the scientist was not on board. Friday came and the news came to Goroka that the great man had nominated in Port Moresby. Andrew Trawen shook up the SAP dream and announced that Doctor Waine's nomination was not going to be accepted in Port Moresby. Mr Trawen said that nominations could only be accepted by the electoral officer and were only valid if the candidate signed the nomination form in front of the electoral officer or another officer authorised to accept the candidate's nomination. Clement Waine had faxed his nomination from his office in the USA. He was not in PNG.
All hell broke loose in the media. Gregory Manda the Engan lawyer put his hand up for the publicity and went to the newspapers with indignation protesting that he would be taking the matter to court. The Great Man had a great job in the USA but was sacrificing to come back to PNG to run for office. Give the Great Man a break.
Slowly the questions are now being asked. Hardcore SAP supporters and candidates are starting to ask the question whether Dr Waine wanted to run for elections after all when he saw how fast the bandwagon was travelling. Maybe he was starting to question whether he could actually deliver on his promises. Several weeks ago people started talking about the good doctor having second thoughts. The good doctor was planning to take leave from his job to run for election and would resign if he won but there were rumours that maybe Du Pont would not give the good docter the leave that he needed to run for elections. The Docter had to decide between PNG and Du Pont, a political career in PNG or a scientific career in the world.
Is there a better way of getting out of the elections and saving your reputation than not nominating properly and then blaming the electoral commissioner?
SAP officials and candidates who sacrificed money they did not have for the elections and Dr Waine's cause now are wondering why
SAP candidates who have already nominated under SAP can't change their parties on their ballot papers now but are upset to see that the millions they were expecting their leader to bring back to PNG to support them will not be materialising.
The Docter had to make a choice. PNG or DuPont? Politics and Chemistry?
Once he decided not to go on that plane to PNG, the political career disappeared from his future forever. The good Simbus are not stupid. The good Simbus have long memories. Once bitten, twice shy.
The Doctor still has his chemistry career, his comfortable house and US $ salary in the US. He has lost nothing but his reputation and the trust of his supporters. I feel so sorry for the poor people earning PNG kina who sacrificed everything to jump on the SAP bandwagon and believe his words.
I tend to be persuaded in what you have just posted. As a tribesman & Simbu professional living and working in Western Europe, I felt that Clement had genuine passion & class to lead our people. I never once doubted his ability as an intellectual and forward thinking world citizen. Unfortunately he has let himself & the people of Simbu down.
I mean if I was to stand for elections back home - why should I be waisting my time around here in Europe until the last minute, a day before nomination closes? Why should a very professional man like him wait till the last minute? I would have left my home & family and relocated to PNG at least a few good months or weeks before the nomination closed.
I am geuinely disappointed with Clement. If what you said is the truth, then he has lost his reputation back in Simbu. I bet he won't shed a tear because Du Pont is paying him good money and his science career is in front of him - he won't loose a night's sleep on this.
Why not? People are having a go at all the other candidates on this board so what is so special about Clement Waine that we can't question his motives and actions? He has led alot of people to the brink of personal bankruptcy.
I agree with the sentiment that this previous writer stated. Dr. Clement Waine is another con-artist. I rang in the previous week to that SAP office and they were couple of unskilled labourers (Those who graduate from University by never found a job...unskilled Uni Graduates). One said, Dr. Clement is in PNG, than the next day I rang again and asked them, and another person on that same phone said, he is in Brisbane, and then I rang another day and they said he is in Germany on his way to Israel and onward to PNG.
From that findings, I agree with the writer of this forum. I think Dr. Clement Waine lost is credibility and will never surface in the hearts of the Simbu's and PNG alike as a champion. will always be known as an outsider and lier. We will remember that Clement Waine is a con-man who never learn to crawl before he walk.
Anyone on this forum knows his contact in the states or whereever this scumbag is hiding. Wasted all resources to nominate people under SAP and why is he hiding. Fed up with talking to his clown SAP executives. Please someone leave a phone number or etc.. to talk to that con-man and get the story.
Mauswara and those other highlander sopporters of his should know.Askin ol.Blari kon lain. Now they will find it hard to kon us anymore.Evrybody is watching and will soon all know who are the real kon people in PNG.Highlanders all wanna be politicians but we know they are all bunch of kon man.We will still see them look stupid in here trust me.Just wait and see them.Ah.
Now that you mention it, I also notice that mauswara has mysteriously disappeared from these discussions. I didn't know the connection until you enlightened me.
If these SAP people can't even defend their champion, they would have been totally hopeless they would have been totally hopeless at taking a strong stance against corruption had any of the SAP candidates been elected. Would have turned out to be more of the same "I saw nothing" or "I won't say anything" kinds of MPs.

SAPP, We ain't talking to those numbers in PNG, we wanted to talk to "the man" in the USA. Yu haitim em long wanem hap na ikam pilai kon loing hia. The same numbers of these disciples who are con-artist as well. Like the leader as well as his tale bearers.

Whats this fuzz about DU PONT e-mail addresses out. That freakin' lying indiot is work in that company and that company is marketing their products so does it really matter whether e-mail is out or not............? Bell steam pinis!
Re: Manning the switchboards, waiting for your calls

I'm one of the guilty culprits. I posted a URL with his address on it for people that went to that web page.
This information (CW's address) is available freely on the internet to anyone who wants to find it in other words, removing it from pngscape does not remove the information from other places in the internet.
I thought (maybe mistakenly) that anything that is already on the internet and legal according to PNG laws would be ok for here. Am waiting to hear from moderator on this one.
The simple fact is; when someone brilliant comes along and fails to live up to expectations created by him and/or his followers - the public just loves to take a 'dig' at him/her.
This is exactly what is happening to Clement. He is so clever, so bright, writes very well and is the best in his field - people will be naturally envious and happy to see someone like him fail. Unfortunately he didn't help himself by not being in Kundiawa to nominate.
How foolish is that? I hope he concentrates on his profession and forget about Simbu & PNG. It will be for his good to do just that.
he will buid a space station in Simbu to fly pigs to mars.the people from the republic of simbu should make him their president .if simbus don't want then southern highlands will definitly need him.send him up there.they are just waiting for him.they have had enough with yawari and o'niel
I agree he didn't do himself any favours by not turning up for his party - he needs to change his travel agent.
I am not envious of him, I admire him.
I encourage my children to look up to and aspire to be someone like DR Waine and other PNGeans who are high achievers.
Some accuse anyone who supports the middle ground and attempts to reflect both sides of the coin as a rabid SAP/CW cult member. I assure you I am an independent, intelligent and mature adult capable of making up her own mind.
Who could possibly be envious after what has been written about him on this site, there are certainly individuals out there who are leading unfulfilled lives.
If people really cared about the issues affecting PNG their contributions would be positive and proactive rather than accusations, personal attacks and more mauswara nating.
I'm not suggesting you don't have the right to an opinion or the right to criticise and question citizens who are seeking public office, I'm saying just make sure you are aware of all the facts and don't believe everything you read and see on the news or get sucked in by unsubstantiated rumours and gossip.
There is always your story, their story and the truth.
I think people have been begging to hear CW's story and "version of the facts" but to no avail. If I read correctly, even the moderator has emailed him. Probably she has received no reply otherwise I'm sure she would have shared it.
Not knowing CW's side of the story is exactly why people were getting pissed off. Silence may be golden but it's as irritating as hell sometimes. People react. You can't blame em.
Like I said I am not a SAP/CW follower and I defend your right to question.
Just be sure that you're opinions are informed and balanced. Opinions and actions reflect age, upbringing, education, intellect and levels of reasoning. It tells the world this is who I am as an individual.
Personally, I refuse to participate in blaming or lynching any PNGean who has done nothing negative to the country.
I find it distasteful, immature and it reeks of 'mob mentality'.
I would much rather channel any anger, disappointment and despair towards past and present leaders who have a history of corruption.
You might want to look up "MSI" - Mass Sociogenic Illness. This is related. When a group of people have rapid communication and someone in-charge or in authority declares something untrue, then the rumour can spread very rapidly. In the case of an imagined illness, people can actually show physical symptoms even though there is no actual pathogen.
It seems that very few people have the ability to rise above emotions and to look at claims/allegations from a logical point of view.
I think you and some others are getting away from the important points here-
First, CW badly let down those who expected him to show up after so much advance blah blah and prep. This obviously directly affected some people on scape in a very negative way. They're angry and deservedly so.
Second, the criticism leveled at CW because of that no show incident is no worse or different than what you'd see anywhere else on the internet.
Third, the issue went on and on because CW apparently has become silent, including not answering the moderator's own emails (If I've read past postings correctly, the moderator has emailed CW herself to find out the facts). Also, purging threads when people are in the heat of discussion never calms down an issue it only makes people more heated and angry.
Fourth, I suspect the issue will die a natural death as all issues on discussion forums die, if CW comes forward and apologises OR if people run out of things to say and they don't feel they're being shut up or suppressed in airing their viewpoints.
The ones who lost out financially should publically name themselves on this forum and in the papers so CW can put a name to the people he allegedly defrauded.
Name yourselves, don't hide behind the screen, if you want our support. Otherwise I and others find it hard to believe that anyone was sent to the brink of bankruptcy.
If you decide to donate to a political campaign then you only have yourselves to blame because you are personally responsible for your financial decisions as a mature adult. You can't transfer that blame.
It's like investing in John Towner and NGE and then finding out in 18months that it was a scam. You only got yourself to blame.
Tell me - you say people should channel their anger towards fighting corruption. Do you? If so, how?
There is plenty of anger channeled towards corrupt leaders on scape. Lots and lots of postings. You must somehow have overlooked them!
Leaders in all democratic countries get attacked and even badly ridiculed. We can define 'leader' all the way from PM to intended candidates like CW. CW is being treated no different than how he would be treated on an Aussie forum, American forum, etc if he were the same kind of figure in one of those countries.
PNG is no different than other places when it comes to leaders being criticised severely.
Don't try to create a dreamland where none has ever existed nor will ever exist!
I bet Dr Waine is looking back and laughing at all the commotion that he has created across PNG amongst all the primitive kanakas without even setting foot on PNG soil. He must be pleased with himself for creating such high expectations in the simple people who, out of their desire for someone decent to be their leader, believed everything he said to them and waited for him each day. Sadly, it is just another episode in a life of the simple PNGan who is constantly lied to, disrespected, treated with contempt, his/her resources stolen, yet he/she continues to live day after day hoping that one day all this will change for the better. Dr. Waine is no different from all the others that came before him with grand promises and have gone and faded to distance memories. He is no different. He will fade away as well.
Why are people being so tough on Clement Waine? The same reason why the world is being so tough on America concerning torture, soldiers killing innocent civilians, etc. When any country or any person holds themselves up as a role model, they can expect to be held under a fine magnifying glass to make sure they live up to their word. Tolerance for failure is far less for those people/nations compared to those who don't even pretend to be decent or well behaving.
That's my take on all this. It's also why I too want to find out exactly what the real story is with regard to Clement Waine.
It is the responsibility of “EACH OF US” and “ALL OF US” to shape the destiny of this land. The responsibility does not rest on one individual or a group. The responsibility rests with all the people of Papua New Guinea.
Trickery, Manipulation, and Brainwashing comes in very many different forms. Sociologists learn it in class but Papua New Guineans live it and I have seen some experts in Papua New Guinea in my short time on earth.
The learning that I would like “EACH OF US” and “ALL OF US” to take out of this is the same trick not being used at “EACH OF US” and “ALL OF US” the next time around.
I was involved in the 2002 elections and I have seen candidates being conned into contesting under dubious political parties that did promise significant amounts of money and never delivered and as a result some candidates asked me for my assistance where I did help out. Not because they will win but only to make them happy as they are human beings.
Dr Clement Waine is not paid by the tax payers of Papua New Guinea. We have other hot topics to talk about that affect us individually and as a group. He is now to face his SAP members and find some good solutions for their time and efforts committed to the SAP cause.
I knew from the start that the good Dr Waine will not make it and I have always said so on this site with my previous experience with aspiring politicians shining initially but shy away when faced with reality. Those experiences includes, promising and not delivering, giving false reasons and excuses, etc.
FORGET CLEMENT AS HE IS NOT A CANDIDATE! HE IS NO LONGER A PUBLIC FIGURE TO BE DISCUSSED FURTHER.
USE THE LEARNING IN YOUR LIVES AND ENSURE YOU ARE NOT BEING TRICKED AGAIN AND SHARE THE LEARNINGS WITH THE PERSON YOU SEE NEXT.
AND PLEASE DON'T USE TRICKS ON OTHERS AS IT IS A SINNNNNNNNNN!!
Whilhelm, Thankyou for that insight and as such I agree with you. Its just one of those things that you only have to leave behind to regret mistakes made in life and keep on going hoping that you will not repeat the same mistakes again.
Quite good, honest, caring people in PNG and including overseas students have this tendency to be really gullible and naive. We quickly settle upon some person to be our hero and never bother to investigate first. A few years back a lot of students were promoting Somare as God's gift to PNG and now look. The kon mangis aren't so naive and gullible they don't trust anyone. But we do and we find ourselves flat on the face many times because of this gullibility.
LESSON: The next big hero that comes along, investigate them first and I mean really investigate them. Don't even take someone else's word for their honesty or reliability.
The problem in this case (Waine) isn't honesty first, it was reliability and commitment. Once those fell by the wayside, then the dishonesty may have come into play but I don't think that was the original problem with him.
By the way, the best way to 'investigate' the next big hero to come along is to find out for yourself just how much of their own personal time and energy (and money) they are sacrificing on PNG's behalf. Don't take their word for it, really look for yourself. Second, evaluate how effectively they are at inspiring grassroots Papua New Guineans because if you can't inspire the grassroots you aren't going to get elected.
Others probably have even better suggestions than this, it's just the start of discussing how you evaluate who is a genuine person. It's easy to say 'genuine' but much harder to evaluate it.
The game of politics in PNG is certainly very different from science.
Our young intelligent Dr. Waine regardless of people being spiteful can still hold his head up high. He has a lot to learn from our political culture before declaring his intentions to run for the office.
A major lesson to learn. He now has the next 5 years to prove his critics wrong. May be start by looking at other initiatives of helping PNG than politics.
Dr.C.W used to come to this Forum and prove his critics wrong. Now I think he is scouting back to where he has started to dream about one day becoming the saviour to PNG. I could bet even my bottom dollar that he won't ever come to this scapers site and talk. I once read in this Forum where Dr. Waine says, He does not care if raffle some feathers upstairs or downstairs....Wonder he is in the middle of nowhere. Lessons' learnt, so later be careful scapers and supporters. As the other scapers say, not only in Politics but also in other fields as well.
Who among us can say that when it comes to our corrupt leaders we've done more than talk or write about it.
We love to talk the talk however, actions speak louder than words.
I am not a SAP or CW supporter, don't know the guy so I can't judge him. But you can't accomplish what he has professionally and academically without all those characteristics you describe.
All he's guilty of is being politically naive and disorganised. He certainly owes his intended electorate and SAP colleagues, supporters and volunteers etc an apology and explanation. I have a feeling that as most of them are highlanders they will extract what they can from him, and not in a subtle way either.
If we were to bottle all the energy, excitement and emotion that he has generated in discussions on this site and elsewhere in the community and aim it at the real criminals at Parliament Haus who are getting away with it - imagine the explosion.
They are getting away with it on our watch and that makes us all as guilty as them. Evil happens because good men do nothing.
Dr Waine has some lessons to learn from this - book your flights well in advance and for every PNGean that looks up to you there are 5 waiting for you to make a mistake so they can tear you down.
Majority of our citizens including me have a sickness of beleiving the first thing that comes out of another persons mouth.
There is no checking of back ground info, past experience, character/ethic standing in the community etc.
That is why the con artist and their organization are making millions of kina from poor PNG people through kwik money schemes, ex servicemen's funds, ex forestry workers scheme and may operatiing on a small scale or indevidual basis.
When can we stop to ask, why, how, where, who, what, etc before giving in.
Those who are let down by the various schemes still beleive others who comes around with receipts, certificates, hoax information about many defferent stuffs from the internet and just screw up people's mind and steal their hard earned cash.
No one in this world will sit and do nothing or give little as deposits and become a billionair over night. All the billionairs of the world came to be one because they sweat their bones to get this far.
Toksave long ol hauslain olsem, next taim tingting gut na givim moni/vote or properties blong family igo long ol con artist.
I don't know about CW, but he did was unproffessional and letting his countryman/women down. We hope he can come on the explain to his supportes and party officials who are now in the dark as to where he is.
Iam sure he is now feeling the pressure of having instilled a high sense of expectations amongst his supporters and friends, which he can not meet. I agree with the sentiments expressed above and hope Dr Clement Waine finds time to comes out public and make a statement regarding his failure to come to PNG, nominate and face his people.
You are right, CW should clear the air, apologize and give reasons for not making it on time to nominate for the election-that could do good to SAP supporters and other PNGans who have heard of him. After so much publicity, regulars of scape and even educated PNGans have read of his threads and articles wanna know, just to get records straight. However, very simple things like this can jeopardize his future to contest elections and places doubt on his reputation in this area (elections). The news was hot, now its growing cold, lets see what PNGEC says if the case goes to court. Its only logic to give explanations and apologize.
Wanbel stap. I have read it somewhere and that is, the methodology of coding and interpreting the ‘real’ world of the social matter (qualitative) is not the same as applying the techniques used by researchers in physical and organic science (bio-chemistry). Neither can absolute statements be made on a social science research question being investigated using quantitative approaches. The learned doctor as a research scientist dealing with inanimate matter is empirical evidence for rejection by social scientist of results derived through quantitative methods of the social world of PNG politics.
The point is, bio-chemistry and PNG politics and for that matter politics in Simbu, are not the same piece of cake for a genius with an assumed IQ levels of Einstein.
Lo and behold, if one might have thought that fellow tribesman Joseph Onguglo’s Black Action Party is in a chemical state of hibernation, thank goodness Waine has produced the cocktail with the required chemicals bringing back to live ‘Black Action’ in the form of SAP.
Waine has a lot to contribute to PNG's development through his expertise in science and he does not have to be a MP to achieve that.
Educated people can contribute to nation building BUT politics will always hinder brilliant ideas and suggestions for development. Educated elites need to get into Politics to work together...do away with less educated ones... Dr CWaine & other educated PNGans vying for elections are doing the right thing...when educated elites refuse to participated in politics, inferiors rule...exactly what's happening in PNG.
OK everyone, this Waine thing is becoming old now. Everyone keeps talking like he is the long awaited messaiah that was suppose to appear on Nomination Day to save PNG. This is exactly the cargo-cult mentality that is becoming engrain in people's mind.
Get the hell out there and develop your own land. As the good book says, we do not know when, where, or how Messaiah Waine will return. He himself does not know. Even his Father in Simbu does not know. And the angels of Eribari do not have a hint or clue about the exact time of his return. So while you all await his return, go develop your own land !!!
Your mother never taught you any manners. How rude of you to ask a personal question of a relative like this at a time when they are grieving. This is a family matter and is none of your business. You obviously don't have any regard or knowledge of some traditions and customs in parts of PNG. I'm not a highlander but I know in most parts of the highlands the mourning period continues for a year.
Address your questions of Doctor W directly, his address, email phone numbers are all on this thread.
I find it amusing that people keep coming on here demanding for him. If you are truly concerned about you or others who have lost confidence in him and if he has conned you or others out of money (which I seriously doubt as you are an adult responsible for your own decisions), then you would do more than coming on this site and shouting at the moderator and others to produce him.
Get off your fat hairy backsides, step away from your computers and look for him yourselves if you are that upset and he has somehow injured your ego and pocket.
These were my assessments last year. My Soul enlightens me now, that afterall, I may not have made a foolish judgment.
1. This was in response to the thread where Dr. Waine outlines all that he has achieved in science, and his future thoughts:
Don't SAY IT, LET Others SAY IT!!!

Dear brother Clement
Firstly, I thank God for his blessings bestowed on you. "...Go and take dominion over all creation...," saith the CREATOR...So I too am on the road to attaining a status of 'permanent head damage' (PhD), apparently in the area of some hard science too! But, I am deeply mindful of the good old King Nebuchadnezzar, who once said, (paraphrased)"see, I have built the great city of Babylon and done all these other things with my own hands..." The next we hear of him is seven years of misery, chewing grass in some paddock!! I'd rather we don't crow three times more and let Peters of PNG shy away in feelings of less self-worth, but forget our own value and and deed, and bring out the good in our people. PEACE.
2. This was in response to the thread on "Dr. Waine for Prime Minister".
Ok, Some Fitness Tests For Dr. Clement Waine

We have talked, we have been heard; we have written, and our opinions have been mentally analysed (critically, I hope). So here are some cautions and abitrary assessments of our subject (CW) with a view for more thought. A Prime Minister (PM) is indeed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a nation. A PM by leadership, is a 'father' to many families of a nation. A PM is a figure-head of a nation and the one who is the first to receive a 'bullet' during any international stand-offs. A PM is the one who ultimately pens the executive signature for the success or failure of a nation. So a PM must be the one who is willing to sacrifice his life and wealth ahead of the 'crews' and 'passengers' when a 'ship' has encountered a fatal circumstance.
Here is what Nelson Mandela (former ANC leader, South Africa) said, and which he achieved:
"During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. BUT IF NEEDS BE, IT IS AN IDEAL FOR WHICH I AM PREPARED TO DIE."
Has ANY leader in PNG made such a bold and courageous statement for his people and nation? So, here now is the fitness test for Dr. Waine (abitrarily scored out of 10):
1. Citizenship - 10/10, yes PNG citizen so eligible to vie in an election.
2. Intellectual potential - 6.5/10, he is only a young scientist with a PhD; genuine professors would score around 8; great minds e.g. Sir Issac Newton, Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawkins, Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, etc, would be around 9; remember, 10 belongs to the MAKER.
3. Moral value - N/A, that's God's domain, He judges; we only make circumstantial inferences, and we ourselves are environmental living units that are prone to sway in time and space.
4. Commitment - 5/10 (average), measure of inclination to jump off the boat; apparently he comes from the US for election. Many elites live in PNG and perform under trying circumstances.
5. Leadership ability - 4/10, scientifically alright, but to lead a nation requires huge experience. Besides, he still needs to win an election from his people, and elected members on the floor of parliament, let alone his Star Party returning many successful candidates.
6. Management ability - 4/10, scientifically maybe, but managing affairs of a nation is a touch call and again requires 'on-site' experience.
7. Charisma - 4/10, let us see how he leads first and increase or decrease the score.
8. Concern for PNG - not applicable now; can only be truely judged after having 'played the game'. As the saying goes, 'The End Justifies The Mean'.
Winston Churchill (former British PM) once said,'The further back you are able to look, the further forward you are likely to see'. Has anyone crossed our paths before, said so much and done nothing? Yes, and Yes, again!! PNG is littered with them!
Dr. Clement Waine is still contesting Simbu Regional
May 19 2007, 3:15 PM
Dr. Clement Waine is still contesting Simbu Regional. His poster has been printed and he nomination is allowed under the organic law on Elections. Does it make any difference if someone can e-mail, fax, his nomination forms, filled and signed to the Electoral office, because the Organic law does not make provisions for someone to be physical present. Certain Politicians have done the same thing but I think the media has used Dr. Clement Waines case to sell their papers.
All supportes and SAP candidates, do not loose hope. We do not believe in Dr. Clement Waine, but we beleive that SAP policies would work to erdicate this current trend in this Country. Dr. CW is no messiah and that title alone should belong to the one he believes in and what I believe in too. I believe, that Jesus Christ is the MEssaiah and Dr. Clement Waine isn't and he will agree with him.
Dr. Clement Waine, will come to contest Simbu Regional so all you Simbu's get ready to put him in Parliament. His nomination is not a problem, can't see you that current members and PM are at war against SAP. He dug their backyard up and published it in the media, should they forgive Dr. CW for it? No Michael Somare and all his cronies are at war with this SAP and CW.

You forgot some of the people on this site who are also unwittingly in agreeance with Somare and his cronies. I equate them to the Nazi sympathisers and Mugabe's henchmen - they suffer from NFI (No Fu*king Idea).
It's time to make a choice either you are for more of the same or you want to make a difference.

I am neither for them nor against them. I am just speaking my mind on the issue that why CW becomes the talk of Politics today. If he is a Chemist by profession that is fine, but to get a whole load of bag of trashing from the PNG public and scapers alike is no justice. If you wanted to see justice, pick up a gun and blow em' Prime Minister and thier likes to "Burning Hell" because they are the ones who cream all the juice of Wealth out of this Country to build a earthly Empire out of it. Clement Waine hasn't stole, no dollar nor kina from PNG's purse so lets...be positive and let Dr. Waine come and run Simbu Regional. Polling starts in six (6) weeks time so hope is not all lost...until d=day than, we can cast our judgement on Dr. Clement Waine. But for the time-being till the Elections, the media and all anti-SAPPNG can make noises....SAP and some pro_SAP ain't no dancing to no ones music.

What false promises? He's here (albeit late) and his legal challenge will be successful as there is no law in PNG that stipulates that the nominating candidate has to be physically present in the province. Candidates have done this in the past. Why are people acting like this is a new occurrence. Stap isi.

There is a requirement that a candidate has to physically sign his or her nomination form in front of an electoral officer or someone authorised to receive the nomination. Clement did not even do that.

How can one person work against other 108 members to fight corruption. A lot of intending politicians have been preaching sweet sugar talks before they got on the boat. After they did, it was totally the opposite. Be mindful that, the way he acquired his achievements was unquestionable. But its not that way at Waigani, its always the other way around.
Anyway let him join the club at the Parliament house, We hope for the best.

Unfortunately neither SAP nor Dr Waine are electable. Thus they are no alternative to Somare-****.
There's an old saying that if you want to become a successful politican and leader you must be 1/2 step ahead of the people. They will hear you it will be new ideas and they will gladly follow. However if you're 3 or more steps ahead of the people, forget it. You're unelectable or not going to be listened to by the people.
I am sorry to see the truth that SAP policies may be well and good but at least 3, 4 or 5 steps ahead of where nearly all Papua New Guineans are at this moment .
We need alternatives to Somare-**** that relate to the grassroots in a better and more friendly way.People won't vote in any numbers for this kind of fancy tok or fancy tok people no they're not. Both SAP and Dr Waine are dead enders in PNG politics at this moment in time.
Clip and save this posting until the time the results of the election are anounced. YEs do that please and you will discover this was the honest truth.
Over here in the USA, no PNGeans have come face to face with this man. Never join us in our yearly gatherings/celebrations etc even invitation were sent out. We don't know wether he even exist here o nogat? Wether he did exist here or not, we have no respect or time for him. His level is way up in the blue blue sky and we are no match,

Another one of those thieves wanting to rob the govt and grassroots people setting up baseless policies with yet another political party which has no meaning to a street mangi. Hope the so called Dr wins the court case and be considered for elections. I'll keep my fingers crossed but I won't surprise if he ranks the bottom of the ladder so as for his candidates for SAP.
Plis enough of this rubbish. Dr CW has done no wrong in promising people about his intentions to go to Politics. How many of the current pollies have delivered to the people according to their millions of promises. I will let you retrace your history. Dr CW if he contests or loose or win, I have no grudge against that person. I think its the hype created by his "Wanabe SAP" supporters and executives that is the crap. They told lies about Dr. Waine bringing in millions from the states etc....Dr. Waine has never said that nor promise big bucks.
The executives that nominated themselves to SAP has created this mayham, not Dr. Waine. I am optimistic, whether you PNG yankee's or PNG does not think this person isn't the man to lead this nation, I am still optimistic that Dr. CW will still run in the elections.

After reading all the threads on this topic I must say that Dr Waine has alot to learn. I for one would love to see him actually contest in Simbu and then watch the Simbu people pass their judgement.
I actually know of two candidates running on an SAP ticket and they have to pay for everything themselves. I remember speaking to them before the elections and warning them about the lies that political parties use to get people to contest on the party ticket but they were so convinced by Dr Waine & SAP officials that they refused to listend to me. They were talking about crazy amounts of money that SAP would give them. One of them is contesting Angoram Open and the other Madang Open. I know that both of them are going to be bankrupt after the elections.
I have nothing against Dr Waine but I am sad that he may have destroyed the hope that many people have placed in SAP and himself.
Lastly, somebody mentioned Allan Bird on this thread and I think it is important to mention that the man has put his hand up already in 2002, Sepik people have rejected him and now he wants to sit back and take it easy. Poor guy, let him be, we should all respect his decision not to be involved in politics. He is not the subject of this discussion any way.
Any candidates who were waiting for handouts, whether they were waiting for Waine to give them the handout money or someone else to do it, IS NOT A GOOD CANDIDATE for PNG. Why should we vote for someone who's already in the handout mentality????
It sounds to me like the other SAP candidates are losers.
I think the point that I got out of the discussion is that people weren't trashing Alan Bird ever. Obviously it's because Alan Bird hasn't done anything conspicuously awful like making false promises or not showing up like Waine has done. If Alan Bird behaved like Waine has behaved, I'm sure he would rightfully be trashed just as severely and deserving it too.
But Alan Bird is no Clement Waine, that is very clear indeed.
I think you need to expose yourself to the greater big world of things where people debating and arguing is what allows everyone to become more critical and learn and develop from the criticism. To shut people up is actually the key to becoming very uncompetitive in the bigger world. Not being criticised does not help people learn from their mistakes.
What exactly causes you to consider anything being said on these threads as "attacks"?
Are you one of those Hitler nazi facists who only want people to say what you want to hear?
