Business Houses Funding Corruption

As never before, 2007 National Election campaigns are being run by extravagant spending and one may wonder where such poor politicians get so much money to spend in a matter of few weeks? Businesses houses have become the unauthorised common source of funds for politicians to 'lend' money. The ombudsman commission should start an investigation into the practice of creating unethical and un-called liabilities by politicians with business houses with unsecured promises of contracts and continued political support in exchange for thousands to millions of unrecorded, under the table cash transactions. Majority of the politicians are doing a door-to-door begging frenzy from businesses and high profile individuals. While the ordinary people of PNG vote their leaders to represent them in parliament, MPs are making their own private deals with business houses which are not in the best interest of the country and the people they represent. Such un-called liabilities will only result in compromised decisions and diversion of national interests to a greedy few. What an unfathomable act of pure greet by politicians to beg in exchange for people's right to be represented fairly, and what unethical business practice in PNG by such business houses to fund corruption!
