Your Views on Auther Somare and Ben TamurFebruary 25 2008 at 1:54 PM | Street Mangi |
| My Dear fellow Niuginans and frequent scapers, i have been following the story of Digicel and telikom closely over the last couple of months closely and just come to realise that, something fishy is going on here.
Why is the Minister for Telecommunication, and Member for Kokopo Open, Hon Ben Tamur keeping a low profile on the whole while Mr A Somare is controlling the rudder?.. Surely someone's got a vested interest in telikom and trying to cover their butts up.
What do u guys think?...
This is a good topic for some very constructive debate.
All your input will be appreciated.

The people of png should be very greatful that communication is picking up very quickly, due to the effort of Minister Tamur. Its been mentioned around the globe that sir rabbie did noting for his town or country the time he was in parliament. All he was worried about was himself. |

Its been rumored that Author and Michael Somare have a joint account in a swiss bank and Digicel and RH have made couple of millions all in US dollars into those accounts...
Someone will benefit from this, and its those two and not the whole of PNG...
Its time PNG rise up and do something or we will continue to be like slaves for as long as we live to the Sepik Mafias... |

The latest news is that Auther and his old man plus Tamur will receive couple of millions each from both Digicel and Grencom.
GreenCom director and former Defense Chief, Ted Diro is not in favour of the deal and has, quote "willing to dig up those dirty deals
should his company not granted a license....
Both parties are still on logheads on the deal.
Stay turned for me........................................... |

Can you blow the whistle to Ombudsman Commission, Police Commissioner and the Media to unearth these allegations?
There got to be at least some honest people in PNG, who would fight tooth and nail about these rotten deals. There are many uncorrupted , honest people out there.

At the end of the day, I am interested in more telecommunication carriers coz Telikom service has been very very poor. If fact Telikom has been robbing me for the last 25 years.
When there is competition, quality of service delivery improves, price is affordable for customers and most of all internet could be affordable for many PNGeans.
Compared to other developing countries communication in PNG is too dear and coverage is for the urban areas only UNTIL Dicegel appeared on the scene. And price has become affordable too!
Who owns which company is none of my business. Who signs what is none of my business as long it is in the best interest of PNG. What the mass of rural PNG need is good reliable, affordable service, so that the poor Simbu at most remote mountain village or the poor fisherman in remote woodlark Island can talk to his son at waigani.
Come on Minister sign up and let more communication firms into PNG ........... price bai go down yet olsem ol long narapela kantries.
PNG is part of the big global village via internet connectivity. Globalisation!!!!!!!! We got to be in it to trade with the world.

| Arthur and Michael Somare also own Petromin | March 7 2008, 8:12 PM |
Petromin was set up by Somare as a vehicle for his family and cronnies, like Glen Blake, Singin and Kalinoe to own all the resourse projects in PNG. Latest was purchase of the Tolukuma Gold Mine, which is unprofitable and a environmental disaster. They could not care less! As long as they make money. Somare family are now filthy rich while the rest of PNG is suffering. |

We in the rural areas don't care who has how much millions in his bank ac#.
We have basic needs; food, shelter and clothing. Those in the city and settlements who are struggling, please come to the bush and live of the land. Garden food is healthier.

JAM or GAM is a part parent company of greencom and Arthur & Glen Blake have bought shares in that company. Now they are trying to have control over greencom while supressing the chances of Digicel to have its own gateway. As soon as Arthur is successfull in bringing his company here then he will change the laws and ride on the spirit of competition and his dumb stupid nuts starting from the comm. minister patrick tamurmur and other idiots mps will just vote for a couple of grand where patrick & belden will dish out. |
