The Honorable Governor of SHP, Anderson Pawa Aigiru has more to investigate. He does not need a Fraud Squad Investigation Team, Governor should have a properly commissioned investigation team with wider range of powers to investigate on other affairs of the SHPG.
Honorable Governor should not waste time on a lousy 7 million that went missing or was chewed up by his cronies. Who does not know this? Millions have gone missing in the past and nothing has been done.
NOW………..I will speak as a concerned Southern Highlander and challenge the Governor to also instigate investigations into other Administrative Functions and Business Interest of the Southern Highlands Provincial Government.
This investigation should cover the business arm of SHPG, the SHP Development Authority. We also have reliable information that the SHPG had invested in Real Estate , Construction and Agriculture.
Why sweep all this need to know agenda under the carpet and make a smoke screen with a Lousy 7 Million Kina Investigation.
While you compare and acuse the Governors.. the culprits are public servants like administrators. Some of them don't even know how to administer.
William Powe not doing any good, drunkard and prostitution, abuse of public office. Cronies like fallen Angle father Mark as executive.. chasing woman drinking beer 80% of government time.
Brian Pebo, the missing link in SHP and POM, a mad administrator under a mad governor Yawari..
Anderson is better than HAMI yAWARI. Anderson was honest, yes a few public servants stole or missued money.. but ol kisim pe bilong ol.
Anderson was only th ebegining, let him complete this term and we'll see from there, then you and I can remove him... aren't we voters..
Investigations can be conducted but you will go noway. But their sins will catch up with them.
SH money has curse... you steal you shall die terriblely in many forms.. never enjoy what you steal and life long.
Hami's cronies of Nipa dying of AIDS..
YOUTH and RELIGION money put aside by Anderson government were missued by certain individuals have faced more problems; car accidents, deads, compensation, AIDs, loss of position.. you name it.
YOU CAN'T STEAL FROM 500'000 people from SHP and escape.
Curse unto you, your family.. and you will go to hell.
........ I still and will be Anderson was honest....
Tru dat Murumbu naikisi. Of all the governers, I think Anderson is and will be the one to do better if not an excellent job than the rest. Lets just wait and see.
What goes around comes around. You cant escape karma. Hami and the rest of his cronies can go to hell and roast there cos that guy is just plain stupid, dumb and an ass wiper to the Nipas. His time was corruption to the extreme that even a seven year old could see and understand.
Anderson should start his investigations from the toilet cleaner/garden boy and work his way up to the big guys. Cos trust me some of those so called cleaners nambaut ya save go na claimim hundreds of thousands. Noken ting ol liklik cleaner, ol gat name too ya.
THE Southern Highlands government is emphasising on the training of individuals as its biggest investment potential.
Governor Anderson Agiru wants to leave behind a legacy of highly-educated individuals after the province’s rich reserves of oil and gas are gone.
To make this a reality, the provincial government is embarking on a five-year educational subsidy scheme where 50% of all school fees of students in schools in and outside of the province would be met.
For students in tertiary institutions outside of the province, the guidelines of the subsidy require that students are Southern Highlanders by birth or have parents who are currently working in the province as public or private sector employees.
It also requires that they fill and sign a irrevocable indemnity and undertaking form.
The forms are to be signed by three senior members of the school administration and three members of Southern Highlands students’ associations.
Southern Highlands education subsidy chairman and Tari-Pori member James Marabe said the penalties for anyone breaching the agreement are high and it was done to deter students from illegally claiming benefits that belonged to young, promising Southern Highlanders.
Mr Marabe said while he did not think anyone would do that, it is important that these safety mechanisms are in place to safeguard the provincial government’s and its people’s interests.
He was at the University of Technology in Lae, Morobe province, to inform Southern Highlands students of the initiative and get their views.
as per ur earlier conversation toward our governor Anderson Pawa Agiru, he's playing a smarter game than Hami Yawari. Anderson has a long time history, therefore the people of SHP had their say, therefore he's got to do his part to make sure what he promised on the campign trail. as far as the png's media polls reads that the governor of SHP, Mr. Anderson P Agiru is doing a excellent job, and I am saluting him for his honest work not for the citizens of SHP, but as PNG as whole.
Seems like you think Anderson is smart...Of course he is..he has ripped SHPG funds and he played it cool...During his term He allocated $10millon to erect the Agiru centre..and you tell the building is worth 10 million...He had all this bull-**** proposal for some un like international airport but yet people dont seem to understand the pull facotor to attract people from oversea..what potential has SHP got to offer to foreign tourist...Anderson will allocate another 10million that might end up in his pocket..that how clever and cunning he is..Anderson will not last..
A man will always do what he does coz that is his nature even if he tries to get away from it..he still do it...
Hi...people of Southern Highlands and PNG,
I started this tread because I am a concerned and trupela son of Mendi and SHP.
I do not have anything personal sentiments against the Honourable Governor or any elected leaders as they are chosen by the people. If the leaders we choose deliver or not it is totally up to them. The voters like myself are the ones who will suffer.
However, I started this tread because I know in my high school days SHPG had alot of business run by a Elite Management Team of Educated Southern Highlanders. People like Francis Awesa knows what I am referring to because he was a Provincial Secretary and Premier in the era.
For you young ones who have just come to the scene, SHPG was one of the richest in the Country even before Oil and Gas. Look at the ENBPG , EHPG, WHPG, they have their business arms still existing today. ....How about SHP.
Therefore Governor Aigiru must request for a Commission of enquiry into all this ****. It is better for all the Southern Highlanders to know. For those of you who are related to people like Ungi Nandi, Milo Timini, Ipne Kor, Hale Kale, Aiye Dabumma, Nakon Ipe, Gapi Molo, Yauntine Koromba, Kenger Olpa and to name a few. They are the elite group of Provincial Assembly members in that era...they are the ones who will be able to provide some vivid information to the inquiry because they allocated money and started all these investments.
So all you Educated Southern Highlanders out there, please do have your say, 100s of Millions of Kina have been stolen... It is rightfully your money... Have your say.
You tok tru stret Sihaya. Those above mentioned men were the true pioneers of shp (although some of them have now fallen into the corruption trap of cash handouts).
SH was much more different in those days than what it is now. Infact it was better off before than it is now. How funny is that considering we are very rich in resources, yet we've gone backwards.
I know that Anderson is the right man for the job.
hey i find it hard to believe when agiru cronies are talking too optimistic about one time short lived politician. he's yet to prove his political career credibility.
what ppl have spoken thru the balot papers must be regarded as the obvious trend of literacy and the lack of political education knowledge by the mass rural population of shp. only the fool can use this trend as a yard stick to measure his unproven political credibility and leadership potential.
you could stand best assessment of his leadership quality after number of years in service to the ppl shp province but not prematurely at this stage.
don't tell me he's planning for another agiru centre in tari, a complete waste of public funds to house another lots of white colar criminals who will sink yet a resource rich province.
i will only praise agiru whenever the reality of his leadership portential is surfaced.
the real men don't feel smooth backing unproven quality leader.
all i said is in response to some shallow and unsearched bluff and exaggeration from few southern highlanders in agiru's favour. i am also an agiru's man but i don't like his cronies assessment output which depicts negativity of a man whose leadership credibility is still in close observation.
wait and see until the end of reality check process is complete.
In his short live governance, yes, Agiru was let down by certain cronies. If this cronies are still around, then the same problems will be repeated.
They did not spend the money in the right mouth. e.g Youth and Religion moneys were taken be individual and they made business. I cannot see this business existing today. Some had accidents and had to pay compensations and one is living with HIVS/AIDS, and other lost Election, other lost relative..etc.. curse that goes along.
Then Administrator Don Ramonang's signature was the easiest and any fool could forge it. That is some ways, Anderson got into trouble.
That is not all. Nipas and Hami Yawari was hot in his trail. Alot of money was used for bribery and court official bought. Even, three Judges were bought by a former SH politician, each got 800,000 each and 600,000 to the middle man. Three million Kina moved Agiru.
The war of politics by SHP Leader keeps going and more political enermies are made.
So choose your words well, find things out.. don't come pouring water on hot stones..
Agiru knows what went wrong and he will provde remedies to that, hope for the best, if he doesn't perform, we can always find an SHighlander.
We voted him to know more of his qualities and what he can do for his people. He was the people choice, against Hami's rule..
For administrators: Best for SH is to bring people from other provinces or bring a contract officer from overseas.
Our own SHP elites only have the big man attitude. They use peoples money to kill many pigs and marry more woman.
See the likes of William POWI, Brian Pebo, and senior pubic servants like Sten Pupio. Brian is already living with HIV I asume from sources. William is next online or already a victim.
Curse of stealing peoples money is reality. For the last fifteen years, prayer group, rallies and religious organisation in the province cries and prayed to God for the deliverance of the province, it still continues...
GOD is harim prayer istap tu ya.. Only God is the judge, we only see the good and bad of man.
Common guys some of these are sensitive things you are writting, this informations are monitored and controlled, just a reminder I hope you are not invading into private lives tok save tasol. Moderator can someof these be controlled.
I dont think its your business, I dont even benefit from anyone of these guys but as a christain I dont feel its friendly to talk about who's got this virus, can you just mind your own business, talk about development in our province and what can be done instead of talking about their lives. Do you think its legally right to spoil someone's name. Thanks and please get back ont he trail.
Yupela all Souths people- politicians and well to do and educated elites. Please think of your grassroot people in the poor remote villages. Can you pull together and develop some good services like heath, road etc?
You have some of the very educated and proactive people in PNG.
Readers contributing to this thread, please do not loose track or deviate from the subject.
Only the truth and truth only will set you.......Please contribute information that other Shilanders need to know...
Like I said earlier, I can see that most of you do not have enough information on your SHP, which you call home. All you know is you are from SHP, people this is not good enough...
Do your research and let us talk some sense here so that there is more stinging coming out of the 7 story and mark my word this corrupt and ungodly practice will continue as long as the stems are not uprooted...
An inquiry is what we SHiladers need.. Aigiru needs to do this as a matter of urgency.. As far as I know Aigiru is clean....but we need to know what happen to SHPG assets.....
I totally support that.It was a time when the thiefs and greeds crept the province after Sir Wiwa Korowi left the governors post and went for the GGs post some time ago. SHP was in the the better when basic services were delivered upon the leadership of Sir Wiwa Korowi.
The Mune, Agiru and Yawari were floating on the Rich oil in Kutubu and they dont bother about how much id lost in the Goverment Offices. You just waste your time trying to play politics.
Tasol wanpla taim bai umi olgeta sanap lo Ai blo God.
In the time of Sir Wiwa no guns were used and now Gun factories are up in NIpa and Tari. Who is able to investigate that. Impossible! Tell the Nipas and Taris to set up and combined investigation commitee to look into their own monies and tell the Government.
Re: People from Hela holding power in the Provincial Assembly should relinguish Power
April 13 2008, 10:22 AM
hey the way things are swaying, ground work preparations for new hela province obviously gonna be unfortunately on the expense of other southern highlands districts. the possitive indication of proposed hela province to reality during the rule of hela origin governor would attract some critics.
and already considerable portion of province budget had been earmarked for hela region which of course is showing arguable trend.
lucky enough that the national government's new policy to have K10m allocated to each district would have some impact on the district development changes.
my conscious tells me that the reality of hela provice is a decade dream!
HELA needs an attitude change before the PROVINCE comes alive
April 13 2008, 11:30 PM
Before all funds in SHP are diverted to Hela, all other Southern Highlanders in the Provincial Assembly must push for this.
There is limited time and obviously, they need to have the province in such a state that it can run which only means diverting funds year marked for developing the rest of SHP to Hela.
On another note, I wonder if Helas are capable of running their own province.
I admire some brilliant and very well educated Helas out there but if they want to run their own province, they need an wholesale change to their attitude i.e. turning violent and agressive resulting in disruption of services and destruction of infrastructure.
Even the Hides Gas is like a prison camp with razor wire fence and heavy security, I wonder if that is a good sign for investment. Is it an economical thing for investors to spend huges sums of money on security and evacuation should things go wrong?. This would mean their insurance premiums goes up and its adds to the cost factor of running operations in High Risk areas like that.
I think the rest of Southern Highlands will be fine but for Hela, I believe it will take 2 generations at the least for a positive change and progress.
It is not possible for hela to become a province, because it doesn't have the infrastructure and public service magnism inplace. It has to become an authority and slowly creep into becoming a province. Lets say another twently years time.
Stop worrying, develpment first. Helas are our brothers, there should never be any division, hela, pang, Ialibu , kutubu, mendi or nipa. We are SOS and forever we will remain.
Issues arise because of the Nipa - Tari problem related to politics and crimminals holding up travellers along the highway.
We have to put aside the mentality of regionalism in the Province aside. People voted for Agiru, even though other s said Agiru will put all the money into Hela.
There is no Hela in Agiru term of office- He is for SHP.
You issue is political, from a losing candidates words.
wHAT THE???????Ummmm from what I know Sir Wiwa was a member of parliment like 20+ years ago and you guys are rambling on like he's the current govener. Am i missing something here?..The fact that he had a couple of wives didnt deter him from the fact that he did do a good job in his time and he is a true pioneer of our province in his own right and people like you have the guts to come out and talk the way you do. Blame Hami Yawari for all your losses
western australian sos, just diggest below news while waiting for more plate filled with goodies from agiru.

ABOUT 30 armed tribesmen stormed the Tari police station in Southern Highlands and freed 10 remandees detained in the cells yesterday morning.
Tari police told The National that the incident occurred at about 4.30am and admitted that there was no policeman manning the station at the time.
They said the tribesmen broke open the station’s door and broke the cell locks.
Nine of the remandees were awaiting appearance in court for minor offences while the other is suspected of attempted murder.
The tribesman also broke into the armoury but found it empty.
Police said the station was manned as there was a shortage of manpower.
Sources told The National that the incident was not unusual.
“It has been an ongoing thing,” he said, adding that some of the escapees were still at large.
He said the station had only nine policemen to look after 300,000 people in the Hela region.
Look at the corrupt deals of the last government for the said amount of money.
Anderson came in time to save the money that can be used for other things..
Court knocks out K12 million claim ( The National news, 23rd Friday, May 2008.
SOUTHERN Highlands provincial government has saved K12 million after successfully appealing a National Court default judgement.
The National Court handed down the default judgement just before last year’s general elections for the provincial government to pay K12 million to a company (named) for a road construction work.
The provincial administration failed to defend the case when it first went to court in late 2006 and 2007.
The company was engaged by the previous provincial government to construct the Lai Valley road in the province.
The provincial administration did not defend the case, resulting in default judgement made against the provincial government to pay K12 million.
Governor Anderson Agiru, when elected into office after the elections, engaged Jerry Kiwai Lawyers to defend the provincial government and make an application for the default judgement to be set aside.
The National Court set aside the default judgement on Wednesday.
Guys, this are good deeds from a leadership that beleives in a province from calprits.
