The burning down of Kapal House in Mt. Hagen is shocking news, whether it was intentionally done or not will not be known until after serious investigations are carried out. If Kapal house was burned intentionally and the culprits captured they must face the full force of the law. Despite this, the Governour of WHP Mr. Tom Olga is positive and has stated that work and services will still be carried out.
The Government should also look at equiping Fire Stations, if the fire station at Mt. Hagen was fully equipped and prepared then they could have saved Kapal house as the distance from the fire station to Kapal house is fairly short. In Hagen business houses are built wall to wall and if fire erupted in one it could cause a trail of fire to the adjouring business houses.

Thats true, it seems a small minority of people in Hagen are trying very hard to destroy Hagen and the question is whats next? However the majority suffer which is terrible.

Mission acomplished!The mob went in and carefully burned out the right parts of Kapal Haus so all the evidence it has been destroyed. They had guns and petrol last night to do thework. They had no problem with the gards and burnt the right spots quick. Haus on the outside still looks ok just check it out. all the right paperwork and evidence inside is now ashes. Newspapers will make the usual stings b ut everyone will soon forget and we made sure we cant be caught fake licaense tag, masks, the works. Paper evidence is now destroyed and we paid off the right peoples. Aways say its the other side did it if your asked. Foolish public will never figure it out.

I don't think Western Highlanders are the only ones that are protective over wantoks, lets face it if one of our wantoks was involved in some hard core criminal activity would we report, HELL NO! We'd probably cover up and protect them. Only truely ethically human beings would report such cases and they are rarely found in PNG.
We should change, the more we protect equals the increase in crime and negativity in our societies. These people who burnt down Kapal Haus, must be bought to justice, if not than who knows what next?
