The ministry of Police and CIS has now become the obvious post for MPs from the EHP. Every now and then , Eastern Highlanders are appointed to this two post. Is it because we are the most peace loving people of this nation or are we not prepared or qualified to take some of the influential posts like the Finance, National Planning or Foreign Affairs.
Our MPs need to put the heads together and lobby for some influential posts. The ministry of CIS and Police are just like a puppet control by someone else in his/her favour. In order words, ministers for these two departments are just briefcase carriers.
Thats true.why is it that most times EHP MPS are given the security porfolios?
EHP MPs need to put their acts together and stand up to get other senior ministries too..enough of being brief case carriers...
Hi There, its all about the numbers game...Key Economic Ministries goes to parties that contribute more numbere to a government coalition.
Yu can be a proven player but yu can't make a case to get the profolio if yu dnt have numbers..its not about being from one particular place or region...
Even if an EHP MP is in the ruling party, he will still be looking after the police and CIS. Its been like that ever since.
It would take someone with great courage not to bow down and just occupy these offices for the sake of having the minister title. Our MPs are a bunch of puppets dancing to the music.
i dont know who to feel sorry for... the 3 stooges or Benny Allen.
what a said day for Eastern Higlands..
I hear Thompson Harokave was telling everyone that he will get Mining but i guess that did not eventuate. Benny Allen thought he would get Mining but that did not eventuate. hahahaha what a joke to this two MPs.
We will forever be puppets. We need new bred of politician to move EHP going forward.
So here’s an invitation, especially but not exclusively to those of you who are on the board reading the threads; Past records have shown that EHP national members were always being treated as second class and I am afraid that the trend is still continuing, I guess the problem lies with lack of corporation/support from each other. Our members are known to be living in their little world and there's never been a time when all EHP members work together for the good of common people. I am not being negative here but I do not think we will ever have make it if the above problem is not addressed.
Most EHP MPs are loyal to their parties and thus are scattered. Though they have the numbers to be reckoned with they are still scattered and divided. Nape negotiated his post to allow the changed . Likewise Others with numbers bargain for a higher price. One can be vocal or highly qualified but its the numbers that determine the final allocation.
Unless an EHP MP heads a party with the majority we all can expect a fair and important share of the cake.
@ SOCS,theres no time for someone to waste around reading hopeless parabol statements like yours posted on here..people are here to discuss genuine straight and obvious issues affecting PNG...
