THE UPCOMING ELECTION DISASTER OF 2012: EVIDENCE in the voter rolls

TO ALL PATRIOTIC PAPUA NEW GUINEANS HERE ON PNGSCAPE:
A lot of you, I think, have little idea of just how collapsed our democracy has become. Please read the article below that appeared in yesterday's PC and tell me how the people of PNG have any chance in hell in us kicking out the corrupt and bringing in fresh, honest faces? The corrupt boys are in control of the nation and they've already succeeded in totally rubbishing the voter roll.
Wantoks, this is not new news. The past 2 elections were full of imaginary voters and made up votes that were stacked to make those with the most money win.
But are you and I protesting about the fact that our 2012 elections are going to be completely corrupt? Hell no, many of us are demanding that the elections be brought forward. Geeeez, what is going on inside our heads?
Is anyone screaming in the newspapers that we need international observers to verify once and for all that our elections have completely collapsed in to chaos and corruption? I haven't seen one letter to the editor concerning this.
Do you, the pngscape reader, see with your own eyes yet that any honest person you're voting for is very unlikely to win UNLESS they have already sold their souls to the Somare or O'Neill devils behind the scenes?
Bratas and susas, isn't it true that most of us are closing our eyes and pretending that the upcoming elections will be free and fair? All evidence is that they will be the most corrupt elections in the history of the nation. Why? Isn't the real reason for this disaster because you and I won't do a thing to stop the corrupt powers in control of our country (which includes the Somare mob)?
Thank you for reading this and desiring of your earnest comments.

Mald claims roll corrupt
Polling in the coming National Elections will be totally corrupted if the Electoral Commission does not do anything to rectify the grossly corrupted Common Roll exercise that is currently underway in the country, a Government Minister said yesterday.
Minister for Community Development and MP for Moresby North East Andrew Mald said reports he was getting from the community indicate that the public servants trusted to carry out the Common Roll update were colluding with some MPs and intending candidates to inflate the number of eligible voters in their electorates.
‘The Electoral Commission will note from the figures it has already that in some council wards; there are more people than ever before. In some wards, the number is equivalent to the total population of eligible voters in an entire electorate,” Mr Mald said.
Mr Mald said from the report he was getting, even the number of voters in his Moresby North East Electorate had doubled in the last five years from 60,000 to 120,000 voters.
“Just how did that happen? Is the Electoral Commission telling me that the number of adult population in my electorate grew by 60,000 in five years? There is something wrong here. If we have that number, then there must be a huge exodus of people into Port Moresby in the last five years,” Mr Mald said.
Mr Mald said the elections must not be corrupted in any way and it was the responsibility of the Electoral Commission to ensure that it was doing everything possible to make sure that such corruption was not allowed into the conduct of the Common Roll update.
He said if nothing was done to clamp down on the corruption that was creeping into the update of the Common Roll, the 2012 national elections will be declared a failed elections.
“Electoral officials in the district are working either under duress or taking bribes and inflating the number of eligible voters. There is going to be total chaos in the coming elections,” Mr Mald said.
Mr Mald also said another way to check the number of eligible voters is to bring the local government elections forward. He said polling in the LLG elections are based on wards and there will not be any foal play because everyone will be watching each other.
“The total number of eligible voters will be known from the council elections. No one can cheat there,” Mr Mald said.
we the people of papua new guinea are always fooled by our parliamenterians and say the old dogs. we are not getting anywhere with development nor man power. the regime has given us hopes that are infact not real. what a big shame to the regime
All physical problems have their roots in the spiritual realm. Therefore in-order to fix a physical problem one must delve into its spiritual dynamics in-order to fix it. If we continue to operate in our egos and think that, humanity with our limited sense of physical and spiritual reality, can find a solution to physical problems such as corruption, then we are sure as hell kidding ourselves.
The answer is staring yous right in the face.....HUMBLE YOURSELVES AND ADMIT THAT WE HUMANS CANNOT FIGHT SATAN (POWERFUL ANGELIC BEING) WHO IS THE FATHER OF CORRUPTION...AND SO WE NEED GOD!!!!!!!!!

It's not just the screwed up voter rolls that are going to destroy the election. Worse, its the:
* ballot box stealing
* ballot box stuffing
and more subtly.....
* changing the vote tallies after the votes have been counted.
All this has been done before and will be done again but this year it will be worse than ever because in 2007 the pollies noticed that Don Polye actually got away with fixing the vote so that he won with 80% (can you even comprehend such a result in the tribal fixated highlands????). Once he got away with it, then everyone knew that our elections were wide open for electoral official bribery.
The question is whether the people of PNG will rise up when this happens (just like the people in Russia did this year) or if we will continue to act like 3 blind mice.
My honest opinion about 2012 election is that it will be a failed election. The events today are sending the wrong signals, uncompleted or inflated common roll, defereal eith by one or 6 months and MP's taking the matter to court. There is great fear in the air and we are breathing that foul air. I do not even fell or excited that there is a national election around the corner. My view is based on,(1) voted in the last 6 national elections, (2)participated as a electoral official as Renturning Officer, Assistant returning officer and Presiding Officer in 3 national elections (in the Highlands) and (3)was a candidate in the 2007 national election.
Good and transperent leaders hardly win elections, the corrupt ones win with extra ballot papers or at the counting center.
Our friends from downunder are painting a friendship face and shouting on top of thier voices for the election to be conduct on schedule but thier main aim is, they envy our resources like the LNG projects and wants the election to fail. Once it fails they capitalise and declear us as a fail nation like East Timor and take over our resources. How many advisors from downunder are flooding the EC office and as if not enought, they are sending more by the day. Is that not any signal.
My heart breaks for my children cose i have no idea where thier futre is heading.
Well, have you ever thought about taking some real action and helping to do something about the problem instead of moaning, groaning and God blessing PNG? Because its survival of the fittest and because of whingers like you, the thieves are ahead and winning.

Okay, this is what will happen during the 2012 elections... While all the politicians are busy out-and-about campaigning, Sir Michael and crew will sneak into parliament and declare themselves the legitimate Government of PNG! They will then suspend the elections indefinitely with the support of the Electoral Commission and the Courts.
They will then pass a new law:- that anyone with the names Peter O'Neill or Belden Namah will be hung by the balls outside parliament haus on public display for a duration no less than 5 years. This will be followed by the passing of a second law that anyone shorter than 5-foot (like Peter) cannot be PM.
I would like to raise the issue of Transparancy International and the Ombudsman commission, who is the watch dog for Pollies and there flagrant expenditure over the next fortnights? does anyone moniter the bagmen in and out of the country or even our pollies themselves?? seems they are all traveling to asia on a very regular basis, where is the work in our country based? singapore, Hong kong and manila???????? someone has a lot to answer for
No money and not enough staff for investigation.
No money and not enough staff for prosecution.
Ombudsman does not have the mandate to prosecute criminal cases.
Many, if not most corrupt activities in PNG, such as money moving, is probably LEGAL under current law.
The court system is corrupt and many cases are dropped or disappear, not because the defendant is innocent, but because of backroom bribery, intimidation, etc.
That is the sad fact.
TI could take a role in really pressuring the government but they're made up of a bunch of businessmen and other conservative professionals who frankly, are afraid of their own shadow. TI will never do anything effective because the leaders aren't willing to take the risks involved.
Just look at today's 3rd May 2012 Post Couriers front page story.
That is where all the money is going. The MPs are creating their escape routes at the expense of people.
Pollies invest millions in Cairns
By GORETHY KENNETH
PAPUA New Guinea politicians who have bought properties in far North Queensland (Cairns) over the last 12 months will soon be in the spotlight when a meeting gets underway in Cairns next Wednesday.
The meeting will reveal details of PNG leaders who have contributed immensely to the development of Far North Queensland (Cairns) and the positive aspects of the properties bought by the PNG elites.
Cairns will soon be another “PNG city” because politicians, businessman and PNG residents in Australia are rushing to invest huge amounts of money there, purchasing properties worth millions. The number of properties purchased in Cairns since 2011 has increased and some purchases had also been done early this year.
It is understood the Cairns North Registrar of Titles had compiled a report of PNG politicians who have bought properties in Cairns and the list would be detailed later next week.
It is also understood six known politicians (named) have invested in million-dollar properties up north and central Cairns to a tune of $A11.5 million (K24.5 million) — $A3.8m, $A1.9m, $A2.3m, $A2.0m and $A1.45m respectively.
Early last month it was reported in the Queensland papers that PNG residents were the largest foreign investors in the Far North, according to the latest figures from the Registrar of Titles.
They bought commercial, residential and other property worth $4.5 million out of $16 million of foreign purchases in the last financial year.
Next on the list was the UK ($3.5 million), NZ($2 million) and Japan ($1.9 million).
Other notable buyers were from the Czech Republic (A$680,000), Greece (A$530,000), Hong Kong (A$491,470), Argentina (A$490,000) and Malaysia (A$394,300).
Hong Kong residents own the largest amount of land (1116ha) followed by Belgium (492ha), the UK (352ha), Japan (278ha) and China (91ha) while UK investors own the largest number of land parcels (257) followed by Japan (214), NZ (212) and PNG (101).
CBRE Cairns Managing Director Danny Betros said there had not been many large sales to PNG investors in recent times until last year.
He said the last large sale was the A$19 million three-storey office building at 120 Bunda St to a PNG consortium in July 2010.
The building was bought by Mineral Resources Lihir Capital Ltd, a company that receives royalties from the A$1 billion gold project on Lihir Island, and invests in property and other concerns on behalf of the community.
In May last year, a PNG family’s first foray into the Far North’s commercial property market was expected to be the start of further investments.
The Honale family bought the home of Channel 7 local news in Mulgrave Rd, Parramatta Park, for $A3.2 million.
Mr Betros said there were about 12 groups representing PNG investors active in the Far North. He said the mining boom was sparking interest by Papua New Guinea investors in the Far North as well as because of its close proximity.
It is understood a PNG consortium is also eyeing one of the Cairns CBD’s largest office blocks, the Corporate Tower.
Greg Wood of Knight Frank Cairns said interest in property in Cairns had dropped off following the political stability in PNG.
Mr Wood said he expected the number of Australians and others working in the PNG resources sector to start buying mainly residential properties in Cairns for their families.
The Far North’s lifestyle, attractive property prices and the resource boom is drawing investors from PNG as well as Western Australia and Darwin, who are snapping up prestige waterfront homes and land in the elite Bluewater estate.
In February this year, investors from PNG (politicians) called FNQ Hot Property principal Nathan Shingles at 9am one day, inspected the Bluewater property and by 4pm had signed a contract.
All i can say to our pollies is, What goes around comes around! Enjoy it while it lasts boys because every dog has its day. You may be kings now, but if it's stolen money you're benefiting from, you shall reap your harvest of weeds. Mark my words! These spiritual laws cannot be toyed with.
You hit the nail right on the head there boston...they will reap what they are sowing. If its stolen public funds then these investments will be 'stolen' from them one fine day.
Sorry bud, but history shows that there have been many thieving millionaries, even billionaires, who died peacefully in their sleep, their billions still intact.
Really????? then tell us what happened to their beneficiaries...how did they end up sharing the inheritance??? What other skeletons in their cupboards has the world not heard about ??? Sorry bud, what goes around may not come in exact form, but sin/evil will reproduce and multiply into many forms and WILL STILL PRODUCE A HARVEST OF WEEDS.
BTW, IGNORANCE PRODUCES MORE.........?? you guessed it!
"Sorry bud, but history shows that there have been many thieving millionaries, even billionaires, who died peacefully in their sleep, their billions still intact."
To die peacefully in sleep with millions intact does not equate to happiness. You cannot enjoy the money after the last breath. I guarantee you those we're referring to go to bed each night fearful that they will not wake in the morning, fearful that they will not be given the opportunity to make amends. They know they have to spend the rest of their lives covering their tracks so as not to get caught. They spend their quiet hours in fear and anguish.
In public they may wear a smile appearing happy, but I guarantee you when the curtains are drawn, that smile disappears very quickly.
Life is too short. I would rather walk by faith and enjoy the adventure with my God.

More and more it looks like this prediction is right. The 2012 election will by far be the most corrupt election in our history. There is literally so much pressure to switch votes to give special people the 5 year chance at becoming super rich.
Everyone out there has a responsibility to take ownership in making the wrong right. The legal system is almost dead. Law enforcement is non-existent. I don't believe there is one such thing as a police for in our country. Its politicized and overrun by crooks and corrupt fleabags, most notably politicians and kowtowing top bureaucrats.
If for one moment we all took a deep breath and asked ourselves, what is my contribution to my community, my province and my country, it would be a rude awakening because we would realize alot of our way of thinking and the things we are constantly engaging in are of no help to building our communities to be a better place.
We cannot wait for so called politicians or the educated elite or joe blow down the road to make things happen for us. Individually, we have to make it happen by doing our part.
An example would be, if we voted this election on conscience and good judgement, it doesn't how someone idiot has inflated numbers, most of that would be waste. And we would vote and elect the most ideal candidate based on our own individual honest and impartial judgement. Vote rigging and so forth would hardly happen. People would not allow that happening.
Its not idealistic. It is the case in true democratic societies, where individual freedom and liberty and democratic rights are of the utmost importance. I have seen people fight to keep their individual rights and freedom. We on the other hand, can even bother if someone hijacks these social rights.
