JOSEF STALIN

Joseph Stalin the powerful Russian dictator under whose communist rule 50-60 million people were murdered or sent to die in prison camps is known for this quote:

"The people who cast the votes don't decide an election, the people who count the votes do."

Any similarities PNG?

Yes indeed. That is exactly what's happening to PNG right now. Yet we have our so called educated elites such as "A.H" who do political analyses through a dreamworld perspective that the 2012 election has been fair, that those who have won have won honestly, etc.

It is a most remarkable situation. No wonder obvious frauds like Justin Tkatchenko are leading by large numbers of votes and most certainly will become MPs.

Josef Stalin??

Mate - Josef Stalin did not go through a democratic election so please don't use him as an example.

You might want to use as example of Robert Mugabe.

But you have a valid point - either the will of the people is not truly reflected in the polls or the people do not know what they want and are like small children being fooled by lollies by crooked conmen we know as politicians.

You can't believe ANY results of this election

The process has been so corrupted I can't trust any of the vote outcomes. Its obvious the PNGEC itself has been badly corrupted-who changed the voter rolls and for what price?

PNG, I didn't say Josef Stalin went through any election process. Of course he was a murderous dictator under the one party communist rule. Perhaps he was referring to how the politburo members got elected.
But he is known for saying that and unfortunately, a lot of third world nations are going down that road. PNG is no exception.

No sumatin. In order for them to steal our land, something must happen first. We must lose lose our brains to think and stand together. The rest is easy when the bribe takers and crooks fall thorough the cracks, making it easy for the invaders to set up shop, divide and rule over us.

We've never thought and stood together. Never. We've pretended to be a nation, pretended to be nationalists but the moment we're put under pressure we revert right back to nepotism, wantokism and tribalism.

That's our tragedy.
