I think the polies are all spoilt with whos going to be the riches and crookest in history. You can only ask why they all rushing to become one big block and no opposition? I wish we had a strong opposition that will keep the government under scrutiny and accountable. I believe a good opposition leader may become PM this parliament term or the next election. It is worth waiting coz PNGeans are becoming more educated in whom they choose and we are not far from that fact.
Noken Wari Belden is the Man But only hope that there are enough pollys like him around to make certain that it can have enough numbers to be effective. Otherwise it will be just like the last two years and the Grand thief Somare really took advantage of that.
I agree with you though that All are hell bend on joining Oneil to form Govt. Even his swore enemy the Grand thief is going to be his Mate now.
I was initially put off by Belden Namah's antics when he was Deputy PM and even through the elections and most recently his outburst against the Chief. HOWEVER, one thing is clear - he says what he thinks and backs it up.
If he does not bow to the current block of parties backing PNC and stands his ground - he can change this countries destiny. Then truly will we know that he is a man of integrity and that kind of leader I am willing to stand with.
PNG has never had an effective opposition throughout our short political history because successive governments had deliberately suffocated the opposition through indequate funding.
We have had very good MP's in every opposition since independence. They were outspoken on issues of national importance but when they crossed the floor to the government side, for some strange reason, they suddenly change their tone.
Recent political developments shows that Belden Namah is prepared to be the opposition leader. He is a good sport. Peter O'Neil and his cohorts better cover their balls real good because, if he grabs them, he will squeeze them real hard.
I think PNG will have a very good and effective opposition during this term of parliament.
Namah certainly said what he thought when he sexually propositioned that young fella at the Star Casino. Thus, I would agree with you, he holds nothing back.
this is not O'neil's government! it is Somare government as you can see. these were the same guys Name fought with. Last week paper Nama said "THE GAME IS NOT OVER" He is the who will turn this government around. its good that he is the Opposition Leader so he will speak some truth on the floor of parliament.
Watch Him....HE IS THE MAN FOR FOUGHT FOR CORRUPTION FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL NATION CALLED PAPUA NEW GUINEA
No human being with Namah's limited brain power and alcohol weaknesses could possibly have made as much money as he did without doing so corruptly.
It's all over the internet how he made that money. The Indonesian who he stole the money from is trying to get it back. Namah was involved in the SABL scam in Sandaun for oil palm and that's how he got the money.
How pathetic that you would actually be so stupid as to believe that Namah isn't as corrupt as Oneil.
PNG will prove Namah correct if he keeps his moral high and form effective opposition
July 26 2012, 1:41 PM
You are correct!!!
Beldan Namah is the man. There comes something sweet out of bad. I believe Beldan Namah is the man to produce that good.
I love him for one reason is: He never bow down to any human being except God. What a true statement he made and that ideology is something that most do not have. If Beldan Namah pursue and ended up in forming an opposition then I would him because he would give a good time for O'Neil and his cohorts to think twice on national issues. Namah will be the Opposition leader and his his will be focus on the government who are full or cowards like Anderson Agiru, Peter Ipatas, Patrick Pruich, John Pundari, and etc...
We wait and see...something good and sweet will transfire that will hopefull benefit the future.

Beldon Namah was the only one of 3 Sandline defendants to break down like a baby and cry when he was found guilty. That was reported at the time in the newspapers seems like people like you have forgotten or were ignorant in the first place.
You probably like Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe's dictator too, huh?

But once again, if you watch Beldan Namah carefully, you will then find out some admirable qualities which are unique needed to be tapped into through a good and very assertive advisor.
Do not just conclude by saying that Beldan is a dictator. He is a human being and human beings whether king, queen, prime minister or whoever have their weaknesses and you will never see someone who is perfact all the way through his or her life.
If you fail to analyse both qualities of a leader especially the good and the bad sides of it, then balancing them to see which side overweigh the other then you can make good judgements.
So if there is no one willing to form the opposition then I can say that those party leaders who are at the back of ONEIL are cowards and will never make any radical decisions for the country in times of troubles and tembulations.
So if Namah stands firm and if he get some good advice and guidance for other leaders whom he can allign with then I beleive Namah is the right man to propose a good opposition that will keep a close eye on the government that will be led by ONeil and those cowards and money faces party leaders at the back of him.
if you were convicted for treason you would break down and cry. Most probably you'd **** your pants Don't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.

Maybe Namah could finally come out in the open and marry that nice young man who currently serves as his right hand man.
Tassie's gay marriage tours
STEPHANIE P EATLING

TASMANIA could become the first state to legalise gay marriage after the Premier, Lara Giddings, said the time had come to end discrimination against same-sex couples.
The legislation would be drafted to allow gay and lesbian couples from interstate to be married in Tasmania, something that Ms Giddings said would be an economic boon for the state.
She told the state Labor conference in Hobart yesterday that she would introduce the legislation by the end of the year.
''There will always be excuses, arguments and questions of timing when moving on difficult and controversial issues,'' Ms Giddings said.
''But just as we have responded to other forms of discrimination throughout history, there comes a time when no amount of excuses should stand in the way of doing what is right.''
The parliamentary Labor Party in Tasmania made the decision to have legislation drafted after obtaining advice from the Solicitor-General that said a state could introduce its own legislation. The states had the power to legislate on marriage until 1961 when the power became concurrent with that of the Commonwealth.
This means the states can legislate in areas not covered by the Commonwealth law, according to the legal advice of gay rights advocates.
the only effective opposition to an oneill government would be one led by an impeccably honest MP. Beldon Namah is certainly not that kind of person thus cannot be effective opposition. He's just like oneill except that he acts more like a bigshot and a dictator...........
Where is Don Poyle? I think he has the numbers to make a difference. Perhaps he could consider the alternate PM and establish a powerful opposition, but hey no one wants to be a looser right now.
This 9th parliament does not need absolute majority to govern. I think 55% to 45% would be ideal making the opposition powerful. But who cares when alot is stake. Iwish the New MP's will have some commonsense. Maski lo behinim carrot.
I salute Mr Belden Namah for his stand in not wanting to side with Somare and his goons. This is the type of leadership that is sadly missing from our Politician currently ie to stand for what you believe in regardless of whether you end up in Opposition or Govt.
To think that most people have forgotten the last ten years and the Somare antics is sad. Now lets wait and see what type of govt all the new Politicians want. I'm sure they campaigned that they are contesting to right the wrong that was dished to people the last Ten years. I doubt it they will still side with a govt that still has the old Farts.
The Former PMs if they were any good would have set the frame work for PNG to be prospering today but NO they were only filling their pocket and those of their cronies and that is why I blame Somare, Wingti and Chan for the state of our hospitals, roads, education and the malfunctioning public service. So its funny to see them still contesting the election and better still been elected by the same people that they have failed to serve in the first place.
Can't forget the day when everyone rushed over to support Sir Mekere when Skate lost the motion of no-confidence. The big surprise was when Skate himself joined in the stampede to support Mekere when he realised he didn't have the numbers.
No one wants to be in Opposition in PNG. There are no principles or political platforms to stand on. People mindlessly flock to whomever will have access to the Treasury by being in government.
Namah knows that no one wants him and is taking the moral high ground, in words only, whereas his behaviour speaks otherwise, the chameleon that he is. In a casino, he's the village idiot, when in church follow the crowd, when seizing power illegitimately raid the courts with thugs, once you are deserted, give a lecture on morality.

We have an earful in Namah, but don't ever try to convince us that Namah takes the moral high ground. He has to be one of the most immoral politicians we've ever had.
At last we have a government but who wants to be the opposition. The overpowered goverment is similar to the past two parliament and what we see is no check and balance. Too much power will rip thru this parliament just like it did the last 10 years. Our polies looked ugly on the front pages of PCourier, please dont show their bellies, what a shame..
Congratulations Peter O'Neil on your election as the PM of this beautiful country. May God continue to bless and guide you as you and your fellow elected members lead this country with wisdom and accountability.
As for BN, lick your wounds, mister. PNG do not need a loud-mouthed idiot like you who does not have any respect for other leaders but believes he is not only chosen one to lead PNG. Go back to Bewani and develop your land and improve the livelihood of the people who you misled and stole millions from. See what you and the faggots from Malaysia did - stole from your own people here - www.bikpelabagarap.com
It seems like majority of the Governors are the same following the foot steps of their fore fathers( Somare,Chan, Wingti), except for a few new ones. They are not too concerned who becomes PM coz they have their own empire to run already, ie they are safe no matter who is the PM. They are the most happiest parliamentarian the moment they get elected, so in a way they are not after the carrot unless they are running for PM themselves. There is too many fat pollies right now and time will tell when there will be a competition of whos the superman, whos the batman, whos the dollyparton, whos the summo wrestler and the list goes on. Congratulation PN but there is too many unknown in your camp right now and too early to know what they want, God bless you if you can control them especially those other party leaders, make sure you can survive the next 2 years at least. There is too many wolves covered in sheep skin. Wait till the cabinet is announced and we will see their true colours. Please dont get ex pollies to head government departments or other statutary organisation coz they got kicked hard by the voters due to poor performance. Anyway I dont think PN does read this forum crap, guess he reads stockmarket, financial review, investment journal instead but can anyone I mean his mates make him aware of the wolves out there including himself if he is not careful.
Wolves wrapped in sheep skin? Of course there are and you know who's the biggest one of all? Your friken hero, Peteer Oneill. The biggest kon man PM since Bill Skate!!!!
Of course the PM doesn't read this and guess what he spends most his time doing? Not reading but talking to his mates about the latest scam - I mean scheme - to stay in power and make money.
He's just like the rest of them but fools like you will never figure out. Oneill is definitely counting on that one!
Sorry mate, Im didnt vote but I guess I got live with what I've got. Im no PN fan but youve got to be diplomatic sometimes. He has all the right ingredient until he is voted out when he has accquired enough just like his forefathers that are pampering him right out in a cotton wool. I wish we had someone else being opposition leader other than that cowboy, PN partner in crime you know who I mean(BN).
Yes, you got to start your apprenticeship somehow and PN has done under previous forefathers. He has the skill to make quick bucks before he bails out and blame some else.
Is there a standard or code of ethics in Politics or any where else for that matter. I think you all know the answer. Let the dust settles and see what this goverment do. Usually 2-3 years of a parliament is sufficient to make a difference and fulfill your promises. I think our parliament term of 5 years is too long. Look at all elections more than 50% of all MP get kicked out by voters so it a waste of tax payers money keeping them in office for doing nothing. Too much money is wasted on these hooligans!!!!!!
