They have to go against other music videos from other asian countries. sometimes, they have like 2 nominees from China...and i highly doubt that HOT are going to NY for the awards, because...last year, coco lee won and she wasn't there...the most MTV did was show clips of each nominee's music video. hope this cleared some things up...

Underground Korean hip hop groups don't really get a lot of respect in Korea. I know that a lot of people here in America respect those Korean underground hip hop but there are a whole lot more H.O.T fans in the world than Korean underground fans... so I don't think there's much of a chance for groups like Honey Family to be nominated for an mtv music award anytime soon. Sorry this is my opinion but of course I can always be wrong.

Korean singers..groups..

I'm kinda starting to dislike Korean groups..the big 5 groups people talk about is H.o.t,s.e.s,shinhwa,sechkies,fin.k.l....
but non of them are really good...Sm singers are just trying to make money..just trying to get more popular..and that's the same for DSF...Sm are copying other's music...or simpleing them(s.e.s dream come true,shinhwa 's 2 song in first album..can't spell it in konglish..)..and DSF make good music..like couple or ruby..but they don't look good ..as for Taiji..I don't like him..but I think he should be the one who gets the mtv award..not H.o.t..

i think all those groups are really good in their own way.. and i don't know about HOT SECHS KIES AND FINKL, but i know that SES and SHINHWA are really talented because they can cover dancing rapping and singing... well not rapping for SES but at least they try... like their narration rap in second album...

i never really thought HOT and SECHS KIES were really talented though.. they just gained popularity through their member # and just their looks which i don't think they have but people tend to like them anyway..

and as for sampling, everyone does it, even the american singers like puff daddy and will smith and other artist... lauryn hill, etc.. and that girl that sings TIMe after Time or watevers. sampling is very common in music lately it's not only korean people that do it. and you said DSP doesn't copy songs? FINKl's yung won han sarang was also sampled from some old american song. people say it's original but i highly doubt that.. it was sampled.

... i don't like sechs kies songs.. i just like their ballads cuz those are good but their dance songs are like metal hiphop and stuff and i don't like dat...

but for ballads, all korean groups have really good slow songs

but i'm MY OPINION u shouldnt hate a group just cuz theyre songs are copied/sampled and they didnt write em. When Taiji boys, deux and Ref, Solid ruled. It is really sorry to know that ses, shinhwa, and finkl can't write their own songs. I miss having Turbo around. Doesn't anyone care? They were one of the best groups (with Mikey). I think Korean music with all the boys and girls groups (4 or more members suck crap. We need people who are skilled enough to play instruments a two or three people type group. That is respectable.

How can you tell if it's a failure..well you can tell by how much they sold the album..but most people don't know how much they selled it for sure..and as for me..even though if I knew how much they sold it..I don't know if that's alot or not..
As for Fin.k.l's 2album 'white'..DSF is saying that they sold 1million..and others say they did not..In HangBok channel..they said that Shinhwa's 1 album was a real failure ..and they also said baby vox's 1 album was really a failure(I know that..)..I never thought that shinhwa's first album was a failure until they said it..

SHinhwa's first album was not a failure.. i know that 90 percent of the people that own it like it because it's got good music... and i'm not a shinhwa fan so i'm not just saying dis...

andDSP needs to stop lying because FINkl's 2nd album did NOT go platinum and if a girl group is to go platinum, i'm sure the first will be SES because SES has more record sales than FINKL.. i heard ses sold over 800,000 of their 2nd album but finkl sold like 650,000 or something but i'm not all into this statistic stuff but anyway...

i don't know why DSP is thinking that finkl sold 1 million, if they did it'd be all over the place and people wouldn't shut up about it.

but you can't take the word of the agents of the singers because what they will do is lie to boost up their group's image. they have an overall record sale list at the end of every year which is pretty accurate.

Plus Daesung uses some cheap tactics to get people to buy the CDs and tape..at least for Sechskies 2

Sechskies two came out in two editions. One with a peach cover, and one with a clear cover. The Peach cover was supposedly a multimedia CD and regular CD in one. The clear one was just a regular CD.

FinKL 2. They inserted a comic character story into one of the tape versions, and only available on tape not on CD. Then they discontinued that, and then started it again. And then they interchanged the title of one of the songs causing people to think it was two different songs and buying the album all over again. I think it was Geulehsuh Ooleen, and the second title was Inyun.
