I agree that the land next to Colzium should be protected for the community to enjoy but I also must support the council to free up land for housing.

There appears to me to be a solution to both the needs of the council to make available more land for housing and for the community to retain the valuable land bordering Colzium Estate. Has anyone noticed that there is a large swath of land directly to the South of the proposed Cavalry Park development which is surrounded by housing already and provides little to no amenity value to our residents? It lies where the word KILSYTH appears on multimap, I have no idea how to imbed a hyperlink to this response and so I have listed the link at the bottom of this response.

The land is still in private ownership (or so I believe) but if the owner could be persuaded to submit this land for planning approval, given that it is ALREADY bordered on 3 sides by existing housing, surely that would alleviate all these issues? It looks to me that this area is 50 odd acres at least and would therefore deal, at a single stroke, with all of our expansion needs for years to come and would finally take Cavalry Park off the map for good.

If Wimpy have spent money on Calvary Park (rather than an option on the land) then it is simply a matter of time until they find the loopholes to complete or find the cash or influence to erm, work around it. Unless another solution presents itself. Just a thought.
