Thanks, Bow-wow, that's a useful idea. I have noticed that a lot of these visitors are from Kilsyth originally, and are probably missing the lovely weather (OK, its been a bit mixed but this week is looking really good so far!), so maybe we can be a sort of "friends reunited" website for Kilsyth ex-pats and help to put people back in touch - (and even encourage a few to come hame to spend their dollars in our shops, pubs and hotels too - what a mercenary thought!)

I like the idea of old friends network. I put my pin in the map last week and I try to follow all the news on Kilsyth on this and other forums.I was born in Kilsyth and left for Oz in 1956. I have many cousins in the town mainly of the Lyons and O'Neil families. It seems the old town has hit hard times? This is nothing new as little towns and villages all over the world are feeling the pinch! I think you just have to soldier on. The town where I live has many empty shops, youth unemployment and social problems as well. Any way I love the forum and will keep an eye on developments-shuggie!

Going back to Sept.2002 Bow-Wow had a great idea.Ex-pates chattering back and forth .about the good old days. I for one have made some friends on the net.We love remembering Kilsyth. We all miss Kilsyth and hunger for any kind of news. I subcribe to Chronice,so I get it mailed to me every week but it!s different than chatting with someone. Let!s all contact one another MY e-mail is scotchgranny@aol.com.
I am going home for a visit May 7th 2003 and I am going to walk up Main st and go into every shop, and smile at everybody I pass . I will be so happy to be back, even for a visit,I won!t care how Main st looks, it will always be beautiful to me Let!s hear from all of you that have left and yearn to go back Best regards scotchgranny
