Congratulations to The Civic Wk. organisers and all those who participated in making it a Big Success..It was great to hear the Pipe Band, and leading the Parade along Parkfoot St. and Kingston Rd....The weather was an added bonus that helped to make the day for a community enjoying the evants....
What struck me, was the Total lack of advertising the event....driving thru Queenzieburn on the day, you knew it was their Cala Day....Buntings, Flags, and Banners were flying, one couldn't help but notice, onto Campsie it was the same, lamposts decorated and banners the lot....Back to kilsyth and Nothing..not even a flower in the window boxes at the Police Station. comments I overheard..Whats going on today!! When I think back to how Main St. and the foot of the town used to be decorated it saddend me. This town council is needing to go visit other villages and wee toons and take a leaf out of their book, I could suggest Falkland...Fife. encourage everything to make Kilsyth a Tourist Attraction...and Advertise Events, ps not just in the Chronicle.
