I'm doing genealogy on the Bauld family in Kilsyth. I'm looking for information on Agnes Bauld who married John Gillies (of Auchincloch) on November 13, 1806 in Kilsyth. They had 8 Gillies children between 1807 and 1824. I have the children's names but I cannot find ANYTHING on Agnes Bauld or John Gillies.

Can someone who know various Bauld families in the Kilsyth area ask around and see if anyone knows of my Agnes Bauld and her siblings, parents or birth information? She would have been born around the late 1780's. I would be most appreciative!

WE HAVE BAULDS IN OUR FAMILY NOT SURE ABOUT THE GILLIES, BUT MY MOTHER AND HER ENTIRE FAMILLY WERE FROM KILSYTH, I MYSELF LIVED THERE UNTIL 1972, WHEN AT THE AGE OF 13 MOVED TO THE SYATES. THE BAULD NAME WAS ON MY MOTHERS FAMILY MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER WAS MARGARET BAULD, SHE MARRIED A RANKIN. ALSO MY MOTHER'S MIDDLE NAME IS BAULD. SO YOU MIGHT CHECK THE NAME RANKIN AND SEE WHERE IT MAY LEAD, I'M NOT SURE THERE ARE ANY BAULDS LEFT IN KILSYTH, BUT I KNOW THERE ARE DESCENDENTS

I will check up on the Rankin name. Since I only have one Bauld...an Agnes Bauld of Kilsyth...it is difficult to begin.

Can you give me some other Bauld relation's names who might have lived in Kilsyth?

Agnes Bauld married John Gillies. One of their children had a middle name that looks like a surname. Elizabeth Burns Gillies. Do you have any Burns in your family?
