Parkburn house was owned by a gentleman named Crichton Stevenson when I lived in this area (kingston flats 1938-1950's). He had a taxi service and took in boarders, one being Dr. McMillan when he first came to Kilsyth. His brother, Bob,had the grocer's store at the corner of Kingston Rd. and Charles St. that he ran with his son John.

Tom is too busy soaking up the sun in Cuba to respond but I don't think he has any plans on coming over in the near future.

Hi Rob, My son, whom I love dearly, answered for me re my next visit. i still love kilsyth and I will visit kilsyth at every opportunity. I have developed an affinity for Cuba and the Cuban people, and I now spend more time in Cuba than kilsyth. I do hope to be in kilsyth this year to visit Alex and May Angus(my cousin) and Ian and Marion Whyte, my long time friends. Cheers and best wishes to all in kilsyth. Tom Patrick(ex kingston Flats.)

Well, please bring some of those amazing Cuban musicians back with you to play at the carnival on the 13th August, oh, and some cigars and really old rum wouldnt go amiss either......not to mention sunshine..(check http://www.paperclip.org.uk to see some of our recent heavy snowfall)

Was wondering what your connection to Parkburn House is ? I too am trying to find the history of Parkburn House Kilsyth, just discovered a family connection to the owners, Stevensons and Chalmers. Would be very interested in knowing your interest ?
