The Chronicle this week had a good news story about a grant of £325k to do up the White House - to be used for commercial space and some flats. After years in the doldrums, the town is finally picking up.

What does anyone think about the new sculpures by the way - nobody has commented on the aluminium trees yet? Any amazingly, I havent seen any vandalism yet, so the kids must like them.

Ive been hearing about this whitehouse being "done up" for ages now?
Wasn't it going to be preserved for historical benefit or something?

Ive no idea, but its been closed since i was fairly young, and ive been hearing about it since, yet nothing seems to be happening with it.
