We will co-ordinate an ambitious programme of recreational, heritage, environmental, sporting and cultural activities across the upper Kelvin Valley from Sat 8th Sun 16th August 2009.
Working with a range of local groups, planned events during the week include a fun run around the villages, village gala days and concerts, football, dance and bowling tournaments, a regatta on the canal, guided walks along the Antonine Wall, Colzium, Round Kilsyth walk and Dumbreck Marsh, a cycle hill climb up Tak Ma Doon Rd, and a boot-sale & craft fair.
At Burngreen bandstand there will be a series of light, evening concerts.

On the 15th August there will be a spectacular re-enactment of the Civil War battle of Kilsyth (15th August 1642) involving 500 volunteers from the Civil War societies (Sealed Knot etc) in full period costume.

The festival will culminate in Carnival Day itself on the 16th August.
