I am saddened to report the passing of Larry Hartsell, who began his kenpo journey in the summer of 1963 at the original Santa Monica studio, then left to serve in Vietnam, and then received his black belt upon his return to the States. Larry was one of the top kenpo fighters of the 1960s, late studied with Bruce Lee, and then formed his own grappling organization. In 1988 Larry was my best man when I wed Linda Lee. He was a great martial artist and good friend and will be greatly and sadly missed.
Deep bow,
