I was under the impression that when you strike in a downward fashion that Marriage of gravity was the power principle to highlight.So if you land then chop without synchronization ,as well as stand up almost straight instead of using your legs with bent knees sinking down to get proper depth of penetration. It seems
counter productive to me He almost raises up. Also compounding your strikes and throwing away body mechanics is about useless if you ask me(which you didn't).The way I see it Mr. Kelley was showing hand movements at a speed where the students could actually see them so they could repeat the motion.Clyde was showing a much more ADVANCED VERSION of delayed sword at moe of a real time with a jumping kick and no signs of a base.I thought rule #1 was to establish your base.SO then does that mean in order for me to advance myself I have to throw away the rule and principles of motion that Mr.Parker taught.I think not.
