I was wondering what your opinions are on training against targets. Do you train by stopping just short of the target because “if you can miss, you can hit” or do you penetrate past the intended target but slightly off to the side to miss the target but train for full extension and power? Let’s take an early technique as an example…”Checking the Storm.” Do you make light, controlled contact on the to kicks following the block to learn proper targeting and control, or do you blast both kicks just slightly to the outside of the knee/leg to learn penetration? I’ve seen both practiced and my personal preference is to aim for the target in a controlled manner. Just curious….
