Well, I may misunderstand you, since you don't describe what "chamber position" is. But, if I read you correctly, then:

1) What you call a rear kick, I also call a rear kick,

and

2) What you call a back kick, I call a "bad rear kick".

I tell beginners that the rear heel kick should be striking with the heel, with toes pointed straight down. Toes pointed diagonally or sideways is a bastardized rear kick/side kick amalgamation. There may be a use for such a thing, but not until they all get the rear kick (toes down) right.

I sometimes call a rear kick a back kick, interchangeably. Hence not understanding the distinction you were making. I have never heard the half-arsed rear kick/side kick thing called a back kick. I have heard it called lazy, and maybe dangerous to the hips. We get into spinning side kicks later, and then we talk about variable angles and such, and where that mixed kick might come in.

What kenpo calls a rear kick (toes down), my TKD instructor called a back kick (again, with toes down). That's probably why I use the terms interchangeably. He didn't have much use for the half-one-and-half-the-other kick, either.

Peace,
Scott
