The word U.L.T.I.M.A.T.E. represent some things we believe are important in building good character and a good atmosphere in the school. Each letter represent a Dutch word.
U = Uitdaging (Challenge). It is a challenge on it's own to enter a Martial Art school for many people and it is an even bigger challenge to stay there! Also it is a challenge to reach new levels and to get better each and every class. We believe that for people to stay interested in something they need to be challenged now and then.
L = Leren (Learning). We hope that each student will learn something. Not only how to fight physically but also mentally.
T = Team(work). Although Kenpo is an individual kind of sport we believe that we need to work together as a team to get better. We help eachother to grow in the art. Each and every student in our school are willing to help eachother. So when you become a member of our school, you become a part of a Team.
I = Inzet (Effort). To grow in the art, but also to grow in life you need to put some effort into it. Without effort it will be a short road.
M = Motivatie (Motivation). To stay in the art you constantly need to be motivated. We believe it is our responsibility as an instructor to keep the students motivated all the time by providing them with good and challenging lessons.
A = Attitude. I do not need to explain this I think. It all start with attitude. Not only to ourselves, but also to other people and to the art.
T = Trots (Pride, to be proud). There is another T in the word U.L.T.I.M.A.T.E, this one represents Pride. You may be proud to have entered a Kenpo school. But it is also o.k. to be proud of each level you reach in the art by putting the right effort into it.
E = Ervaring (Experience). Training in Kenpo is an experience on it's own. We hope it will be a life long experience.
Hope this explains a little what U.L.T.I.M.A.T.E. KENPO stands for.
Our slogan is: Kenpo: The U.L.T.I.M.A.T.E. Life-style!!!
