Response to Let's break it down a little

Hi Clark:

It's a little tough for me to navigate through a lot of your written description, and since i'm at work watching with no sound... well, just gotta go by what i saw!

First Video looked classic Snapping Twig. I'd use a little more rotation with the crane hand to pull the opponent down and into the left handsword, but all-in-all pretty good ST.

Second Video looks an awful lot like Michael's... and with the bigger guy (you) doing the pushing, that 'bracing' angle won't brace too much if you really continued on with the push. In fact, that 'bracing' angel will make it possible for you to continue pushing, shoving, and getting the defender off his game (and maybe on his ass).

If you can do it again, set up same for Second Video, but when you push DON'T lock out your elbow. The break/hyperextend to your elbow will not be effective... SO KEEP PUSHING THROUGH, actually give him a short shove (like a 1" punch) AS he is trying to make the elbow strike work. I bet he stumbles back~

See, by using the N-bo the opponents elbow falls into becoming straight, which increases the success rate of the elbow break/hyperextension...

Pete
