Rapidly dropping your height as you thrust backwards using your hands to counterbalance might be in itself all that is needed to break free and or create a situation where the attacker no longer has the grip. Now we have a different game. We are now lower, we have an established base, we are strategically positioned to strike accordingly, and we have taken our opponent's base and tools away. So what came first the strike and or the creation of the base. What is the major focus here: the strike and or the creation of the base? I guess it depends on where you are within you Kenpo journey...
