Response to Understanding the concepts of fighting

I believe one of the reasons Kenpo, as in EPAK is hard to digest, is because so many get lost in the Universal Pattern. Along with learning an entire language that is not universal.

The part that is universal is observation and learning by Rote.

It has been interesting for me at this stage of my life. But it is wearing, for so many just don't seem to understand the principle of learning, I have to mention!

You will never learn to shoot well, or swim well, or run well, with out training and Rote, (repetition) learning.

Discussing with others in e-mail or person, more come to the conclusion you have mentioned regarding the ability to protect ones self, and the correct applications of what is called, "self defense"... Again your thought of "Awareness" is paramont.

Training and keeping in shape is one thing that does not seem to be important, as some age...Somewhere along their path, they have lost the ability to understand what "self" is all about.

Maybe all should go into the military and find out what repetition learning is all about LOL...

Your mention about the man who wrote "The Book of 5 rings" is very true...Strategy!

Thanks for the post Sami.
