I'm unclear as to why this is important to this thread. There were many champion fighters who never fought full contact. I believe Mike Stone didn't, and he retired undefeated. Anyone who has squared off with Mike Stone will attest that they would have had their hands full had the rules been full contact. As an aside, for those who were around in those days, the Internationals may have well been full contact. I know guys who are still recovering from shots they took 40 years ago.
